Flyers captain Richards won't talk to media...

He's sick of them portraying the Flyers at being party boys. Even though there's pretty ample evidence to back that up.

Even when Yzerman was 24 and young, I can't imagine him doing anything like this - either getting involved with the lifestyle or freezing out the media for talking about it.

FWIW, I admit I also can't see Crosby doing this. Toews, maybe.

Yeah, I think I could see Toews doing something like that too. Definitely couldn't see Crosby doing it (mainly because Sid wouldn't want to disappoint Bettman), but he does enough stupid stuff on the ice to make up for it.

Toews? Where do you guys get the idea that Toews would act like that? Are you mistaking him with Kane?

Toews is a good kid, he's professional, and I have never heard one bad thing about his relationship with the media.

I don't see why Richards should be required to give the media a pass to bash his team's work ethic simply because he is a captain.

Richards is trying to make a point. Get off the "our team parties too much" and focus on the play on the ice.

I don't recall Yzerman having a whole lot to say about his cokehead teammates other than "so-and-so is having a problem right now and it's an unfortunate situation and we're going to be here to suppport him..." suger-coated garbage. Recall that young captain Yzerman was either unable or unwilling to motivate his teammates out of partying in a bar until the morning hours the night before a playoff game that they blew.

Yzerman haas done a million great things in his career, but he was not immediately known as being a great leader or a great captain. He grew into those roles.

She should sue her plastic surgeon.

You might be right, but then again, gals often go to a surgery to look like this. If she manages to interest more professional athletes the surgery should pay itself back and more and everybody's happy.

She's still ugly.

Yikes, one of the links in that blog led to this:

There are even Internet message boards lighting up at the news. Upshall seems to be the Golden Boy for Flyers’ fan. Female hockey groupies are destroyed by this news. You know the type. They are about 40-50 pounds overweight, wear their jerseys to every game, have those 80’s bangs and hang out near the players exit hoping some lonely Canadian rookie will make eye contact.

These are the same women who know every single bar the players frequent.

I'm sorry, but that was just funny as hell. Definitely not kosher in the slightest, but funny.
