WpgMikos 17 Report post Posted October 28, 2009 It appears a Leafs fan has had enough and put his allegiance to the Leafs up for sale. It was purchased by a Stars fan and now the guy has converted to being a fan of Dallas. Ironically one of the bids was $19.67. ha ha The Description read as follows: So I am putting my allegiance up for the highest bidder, just like the overpaid, under producing Leafs free agents.†Lee from Keswick continues to state in his auction description. “I will remove all Leaf Memorabilia from my home and replace it with the team of choice of the winning bidder. I will root for my ‘new team’ whenever they are on TV. I will argue with the guys at work that my new team is the best, no matter how bad/good they are (this one is easy, remember I was a Leaf fan). The best part for me is now I can laugh at the Maple Laughs. “Any money raised will be given to the Southlake Regional Cancer Center in Newmarket. PLEASE SOMEONE PUT ME OUT OF MY MISERY LOL!!! No returns!! I will not go back to the Leafs!! Click here to read about it. Now this got me thinking. What would it take you to sell your allegiance to the Wings? And more importantly if you decided to do this for charity, would you still honor the deal if your allegiance was purchased by someone who required you to follow the Avalanche or Hawks? Earthhuman 8 Report post Posted October 28, 2009 (edited) 1967 hahahaha. I wish everyone else would've left that to win. EDIT: I don't think I'd ever bother to change my team simply because it is ok with me if they lose. Still fun to watch hockey. If I could somehow help a dying kid or something, that's a no-brainer (for me). Edited October 28, 2009 by Earthhuman
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted October 28, 2009 I'd rather be a loyal fan of a bad team than a bad fan of a good team.

thegerkin 189 Report post Posted October 28, 2009 It's a very interesting proposition. Personally, I would not bother with this as I bleed Red and White (Note: I have a Dr. appt on Monday to get that looked at, apparently bleeding White isn't normal.) Hack & Whack Rule! 160 Report post Posted October 28, 2009 I gotta say, my fanhood (huh?) is not for sale. Being a fan of the Wings isn't something that can be traded away that easily. It's something I feel, you know, deep down. I've been a fan since about 1978 when I first went to a game. I could try, but being a fan of another team isn't something I would feel. It would be more like a job or obligation. Being a Wings fan is a pleasure.

WpgMikos 17 Report post Posted October 28, 2009 Funny part is the guy has fully embraced the Stars. He bought a Stu Barnes jersey, a couple of Stars polo shirts and a Dallas T-shirt. It even made Puck Daddy today.

NGKEIB 32 Report post Posted October 29, 2009 Well, the minute the WIngs stop winning their division and getting 50+ wins is the minute I stop supporting them. Why cheer for a losing team?

IceMunkee 15 Report post Posted October 29, 2009 It is amusing the whole story. I thought how could it get to this point. To be so angry at a team you have put years into and get nothing in return that the effort goes into trading alligiance. The guy was loyal or he would not have even offered it because he would not have had the thought. Then I think of how miserable the leafs have been, I even consider some lions fans. Interesting. I think it is really cool that it was for charity and he followed through with his allegiance. I do doubt that when he watches the leafs he does not have a tinge of hope. You can't sell that feeling. ANYTHING is for sale Kira.
