cupforwings 138 Report post Posted November 10, 2009 here is what we all expected coming from Holland himself.... http://www.freep.com/article/20091109/SPOR...0364/1053/rss17
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted November 10, 2009 I can't say I disagree. As long as the Wings can keep it together enough to make it into the playoffs, I'd rather Holland spend the money at the deadline.
RedWingedKitten 9 Report post Posted November 10, 2009 "No," he said. "We're in a cap world. The plan is at some point in time to have a healthy team. If I start acquiring guys now, how do I get rid of money in March?" Right there fellas. This season the Wings will face more adversity than they have in a while... there's only one thing to say about it... Lets go Red Wings!
XxGoWingsxX 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2009 I'm not sure how waivers etc work, but holland said...how would i get money back in march...couldn't he just place the players he picked up on waivers, or is there something to prevent this?

gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted November 10, 2009 (edited) Unfortunately, I doubt this will stop countless overzealous fans from making new threads about all the wonderful trade ideas they conjure up in their free time... On that note, can we sticky this??? Pretty please...??? Edited November 10, 2009 by gcom007

If nothing else I'm not sure a lot of guys would be interested in coming here knowing that they'll be put on waivers in March.
beez35 4 Report post Posted November 10, 2009 Whatever happens this year, my view will always stay the same - I f***ing love the Red Wings - no matter what!! Everything about this team I love, the players, the fans, people on this board, the management, the uniform, the history, the cup wins, the cup loses and early exits. I hate it when people just want to trade away guys like Maltby and Draper, for that "one player" that is going to win us another cup. I love watching the "old guys" play, and remember all those cup finals they got us through. Yeah sure, Homer doesn't look that fast as he used to be, and he's a bit beat up... but he's way older, been so far in the Stanley Cup playoffs, but still sits in front of the net getting a pounding. I just love it!! Go Red Wings
ilmickeyli 40 Report post Posted November 10, 2009 I understand and believe Kenny, but at the same time, would not be suprised if he acquired someone if we continue to play poorly or another gets injured.. He could be playing tough with some FA's, who knows..
