eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted November 13, 2009 And what happens if Ozzie wins in that scenario? We get the same problem Anaheim has right now, just with a smaller buyout later. I agree that he might not be washed up, a change of scenery might give him a few more productive years, who knows. But I am saying that when a guy approaching his mid-30s has consecutive bad years, you at least have to have the idea that he might be in the back of your head before throwing a bunch of your cap space at him. Consecutive bad years? Last season was the first season since 1998-99 that Giguere has had a save percentage below .911 or a GAA above 2.72, and he finished the 1998-99 season as a 22-year old with 20 career starts in 21 games played, a 7-11-1 record (that's a tie, not an OTL) and was still eligible for the Calder trophy. If he continues to the end of this season with his current numbers, THEN you can complain about "consecutive bad years" that Giguere has had and how he might no longer be starter material. Miller Brew 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2009 If Chicago somehow managed to pickup Giguere... they'd be lethal. I don't don't consider Hawks a 'big' threat right now because they have Huet.

Earthhuman 8 Report post Posted November 13, 2009 No big deal saying something publicly, if he really intends or hopes to be traded; but, if he wants re-signed, he spat on the shoes of the wrong people.
