Guest Lidstromboli Report post Posted February 5, 2010 The more I watch him play, the more I'm amazed in the Red Wing brass' ability to find diamonds in the rough and both amazed and grateful that no one else signed him... I think he'll be a Red Wing for a long time... and that, is a great thing. eaves isn't really a diamond in the rough.. was 1st round pick who had two pretty good seasons before injures etc. it is surprising nobody else picked him up though
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted February 8, 2010 Only 8:57 TOI against LA, left with an injury. Blah.
titanium2 867 Report post Posted February 10, 2010 Won't be back until after the Olympics. What a bunch of crap. They could've used his energy against St. Louis.
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted February 10, 2010 I really missed Eaves out there tonight, such a great team player. Always playing with energy and giving 100%, the Wings could do with more players like Patrick. Hopefully he's fit and raring to go in March.
Guest Howard He Do It?! Report post Posted February 10, 2010 Won't be back until after the Olympics. What a bunch of crap. They could've used his energy against St. Louis. Bad news. Hopefully it is more precautionary and not something worse that the Wings don't want to let out.

Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted March 4, 2010 12:41 TOI against Vancouver and a minus 1.
titanium2 867 Report post Posted March 4, 2010 12:41 TOI against Vancouver and a minus 1. Yeah I thought that was a little odd to see. He usually gets more minutes than that. In fact many of the forwards usually get more minutes than they did against VAN. What happened?

Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted March 7, 2010 11:40 TOI against Nashville, 1 assist and even. Nice play to keep the puck in the offensive zone on Helm's first goal.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted March 9, 2010 Even and no points in 12:39 TOI against the Hawks.
wingsownnhl43 14 Report post Posted March 9, 2010 Eaves has won me over as well. Him, Helm, and hopefully Abs can give us what Draper and Maltbs used to. I really think Helm and Eaves have the ability to pop in 15 goals a season in a 3rd or 4th line role.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted March 9, 2010 Draper, Helm, and Eaves have been one of the pleasant suprises this season, hopefully it sticks around for a while.
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted March 12, 2010 Seriously, how good is Eaves on the PK? Awesome, just awesome. Look no further for the reason why our PK has turned around so much. Nice to see him get an assist tonight too, love the celebrations!
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted March 12, 2010 Eaves looked good tonight from what I saw.
wingsownnhl43 14 Report post Posted March 12, 2010 I've loved Eaves this year and I still think the best is yet to come. He can develop into a third line guy that can score 40-45 points imo. If I recall correctly, it took Cleary a season with us before he became "Red Wing Cleary."
bdavis 28 Report post Posted March 12, 2010 More ice time needed! Give him a shot on the 2nd line every now and then. IMHO, I feel that he has more potential than Cleary. Eaves is still on the young side too.

bdavis 28 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 He now has 10 goals, which is right behind his second season in Ottawa (14 goals), with 19 less games played. He is finding his way with the Wings. I'm betting on 15 goals this season for him. That's a very nice contribution, considering he signed for 500k, and has become a piece of the jigsaw puzzle. Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 (edited) I like seeing that. When guys like Eaves score and our top end offensive players are playing up to expectations the Wings win. Right now Lids, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen and Rafalski are pulling their weight. Is it any surprise that the Wings have gone 6-2-2 over the last 10? That's 14 of a possible 20 points. And that's what you can expect when your best players play like your best players! rookie season eaves is still in there somewhere i hope he finds his way out Give me a power drill and an auger bit and I'll dig him out of there.
