dragonballgtz 273 Report post Posted November 23, 2009 Maybe, but I'm saying Domi was better pound for pound. Kocur isn't generally considered one of the best pound for pound fighters, which is why I was surprised at the guy's post. Ironically, the two men never fought each other if I'm not mistaken. Kocur was a hell of a fighter. Here is a quote from wiki: In an interview with Donald Brashear, Brashear described how Kocur had cracked his helmet with his punches, and though his helmet had absorbed most of the blow, he still felt serious pain in his gums, even on the other side of his face, leaving him unable to eat for a day or so. His punches often seriously injured players, such as Brad Dalgarno of the New York Islanders, whose orbital bone was fractured by Kocur. Kocur was a beast. I know Kocur was the hardest hitting puncher ever. Nobody ever hurt more opponents than he did. However, Domi did have better stamina and a way better chin. That guy's head was made of cement. He also possessed tremendous balance. I personally have Kocur ranked higher on my all-time list, but not higher on a pound for pound basis. Going back to the OP, I remember another incident where Probert punched a downed player who had jumped Yzerman in a fight. I think it was MaGuire, but I'm not sure. uk_redwing 495 Report post Posted November 23, 2009 True hockey player having some self respect and standing up for himself right there in the form of Steve Yzerman. The only star player we have who sticks up for himself is Datsyuk. Sad times.

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted November 23, 2009 Those were MEN. I miss those days. That's why Lilja is such an anachronism. He should have played with those MEN back on those older teams, instead of having to defend people like Hudler and Franzen all the time. They don't make 'em like that anymore. uk_redwing 495 Report post Posted November 23, 2009 Being someone's ***** is the new toughness. Get with the times, Holmes. Very true. I dont see why countries have armies these days. To win wars, you just need to sit back and absord those shells and bullets.
thedisappearer 291 Report post Posted November 23, 2009 Instead of sticking up for teammates (which I support), I'd rather not lose 5-1. That's just me though. And any clip with Ewe Kruppe in it sucks on principle.

Your man-crush on Lilja, while being confusing to the rest of us, does not allow you to serve in the US military. It sorta violates 'don't ask, don't tell'. GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted November 23, 2009 Kocur only weighed 6 more pounds than Domi. Anyways im pretty sure it was MaGuire Probie hammered on. Yeah, but Domi was several inches shorter (in fact they always inflated his height) and he fought against bigger enforcers, since he was still playing as of a few years ago. Fighters are bigger now then they were in the late 80's and early 90's. Your man-crush on Lilja, while being confusing to the rest of us, does not allow you to serve in the US military. It sorta violates 'don't ask, don't tell'. What are you talking about? It's not my fault Lilja has been one of the toughest Wings in recent memory. And when did I say anything about the military?
