Jokinen and Kariya are the two I see that the Wings could probably get at a discount.

If the Wings can get Jokinen at 4 or less per and Kariya at 3 or less per, do you think they'd want to?

I hope not. I'm not really a big fan of either, and while they're good players, there are other players that could help us much more. (And in the case of Jokinen, fit into our style of play much better.)

Who do you think? I looked and didn't see anybody good I thought the Wings could get cheap.

Not a big fan of Jokinen, he hasn't been consistent the last few years. Kariya's been going down hill, but i could see him putting up points with Detroit. Plus, its team where Kariya can doesn't have to be a top dog, a roles which he seems to dislike taking. Anyone about to suggest Kovalchuck....................not gonna happen. The Wings don't have the cap space and he won't hit FA anyways.

Andy Sutton, Anton Volchenkov, or JayMcKee. To replace Lilja and help on D.

And if Brad May leaves. Get Wade Belak or if we are out of options for a fighter Boogard but I'd prefer Belak.

Yeah I was thinking about some UFA'S but my question is if Lidstrom takes a pretty nice pay cut to stay here a couple more years will we have a little change to go out and get a pretty big name??

4 years, 4 mil per. That would be nice. Then all we have to do is wait out Ballsuckski's terrible contract.

4 years? I highly doubt Lidstrom is going to be signing a 4 year contract at his age.I was thinking something along the lines of 2 years at 3.5 a year. And you're right, with Bertuzzis contract gone we could have a little cash to get someone pretty darn good.

Paul Kariya makes $6,000,000 a year!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!

Out of that list the best player that I'd go after not named Kovalchuk would be Scott Niedermayer hands down.

Imagine that Defense....

Lidstrom Niedermayer

Kronwall Rafi

Stuart ??? LIlja??

The Red Wings need another small, puck-moving defenseman like the Ducks need another ******* fan.

It's a hell of a lot better than some other options being thrown out there (Kariya) ain't it??

Plus, that defense would be awesome. 2 of the best ever Defensemen ever to play the game???

I don't think Jokinen is the type of player that fits in this team. He's a center, but he's not good defensively. He plays too straightforward game to be in top6 in this team. He's a sniper, not a playmaker. He fits perfectly in teams like Flames or Flyers.

its would indeed be nice to see a scoring righthander on the team again to pair up on the lw, frolov would be motivated by our system and be a good price. As for kovy he is pure goal scorer who can man the point on the pp and is also righthand shot, i would be willing to part ways from other contracts to obtain a player of kovs caliber. My only complaint on him is his defense, and im sure our team can fix that...get it done kenny

Edited by Hey man nice shot!
