commadore183 103 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 Hank gets a tripping penalty after Avery runs into him . There was knee to knee contact, but was obviously incidental. Avery did do a nice job selling his ACL injury . Wings PK.
Green Wing 26 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 How Avery gets calls is beyond me. There should be a pre-written code in a Ref's brain to ignore him.
syntax 359 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 I can't believe the refs bought Avery's bulls***. What an effing joke.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 it's mind blowing that they dont' call the trip when Z gets taken down trying to clear his zone, then they turn around and call that s*** on Z's hit on avery.
XxGoWingsxX 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 I hope that bulls*** penalty pisses hank off and causes him to score. what was the penalty given anyways? checking? being run into? causing a player on the other team to dive?

zettie85 106 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 The fact that this looks like Ovechkins hit/knee and everybody here is saying how it wasn't a penalty proves how biased these opinions are in this forum. Double standards anyone?
commadore183 103 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 wow the refs give the NYR three non calls IN A ROW. a hold, a trip and a ******* DIVE After the past few weeks of f***ed up calls/non-calls from the officials, somehow I'm not upset or angry after that. Just, indifferent, I guess . I pretty much expect s***ty officiating now . Don't you love the consistency of the league

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 (edited) Can anyone tell me the last time a dive was called as a penalty? I don't think I've seen one since before the lockout, in all honesty. Is it still a penalty? EDIT: What the hell, every three seconds a Ranger is flat on the ice, looking like they were shot. This is another embarassment for the NHL. Double standards anyone? It wasn't knee on knee though. He caught him in the midriff if anything. Avery just threw his leg up to embellish it.
Jasper84 333 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 Wow, missed a wide empty net. Hopefully we take advantage of that and score one ourselves.

Is it still a penalty? they were calling them occasionally in the "new" NHL, but that seems to have gone by the wayside.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 The officiating in this league is just awful, all over the place. I know we complain about Bettman enough, but how do Terry Gregson and Colin Campbell keep their jobs? Another penalty? He sold the hell out of that one, throwing his stick into the air. zettie85 106 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 you're on crack if you think that looked anything like Ovechkin's hit. Really? Z stuck out his leg. Bottom line. Why is it not a penalty? ?Because it was on Avery and being called on the Wings?
