Teams chosen for Europe next year

Dumb. Preseason exhibition games should be played in Europe if we just have to have some games played there. The All Star game could be played in Africa for all I care. Games that count should be at one team's home ice, or at least some piece of ice that they sellect as their home is. If the Hawks want to play one of their home games at Wrigley, for example, fine.

Europe is NOT the reason for the Red Wings struggles this year. But if there is a curse, atleast we can look forward to San Jose doing poorly next year, right?

We don't have to wait that long. Just wait for the first round of the playoffs.

yeah it's fantastic for you guys who gets to see the wings play 41 instead of 40 times .. i mean, it's a catastrophy to miss one home game to give fans in europe memories for life :( especially since we've followed many of the players since they were young and upcoming.. only to see them shipped away when they finally start to reach their potential. to have 2 games out of 82 to give all the fans in other countries a chance to see them play is reasonable imo......

MORE WINGS GAMES IN SWEDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit: dont get me wrong, i love nhl and wish it to consist of all the best players in the world. just wanted to give you a little perspective from a fan in europe.

I like the NHL too but I don't know about all the best players in the world. I like hearing about stories like Morozov in the KHL.

Hmm. I like hearing stories too but don't you think it would be more fun to be able to watch him play in the nhl a few times per week instead? :) I really like some of the players in the KHL (Fedorov, Jagr, Morozov, Radulov etc) but I don't watch it at all. I don't have time to follow it as i already have Allsvenskan, SEL and the NHL. I like the idea that all the best players are gathered in one league and battle against and with eachother instead of spreading the talent between different leagues.

Well, with live feeds and everything these days, access isn't that much of an inconvenience. I just like to watch an athlete where they are happiest and having the most fun. I really don't like to watch players trying to pretend as if they like being in one league where they'd really rather play somewhere else. For me personally it's one of the saddest things to watch as far as sports goes.

Datsyuk for example vowed to finish his hockey days in the KHL. I'll probably follow him as much as I do now even if it is a little less convenient. Home cooking and all that open ice makes me hope for a side of Pav I can't even imagine. Regardless of his age.
