king_malice 17 Report post Posted December 28, 2009 i think the red wings should try and move multiple players this year !! lieno,eaves,meech,williams and dan cleary cleary hasnt been playing like previous well when he was in the line up we have a bunch of free agents coming up to lidstrom,lilja,maltby,lebda and holmstrom combined roughly 10mill cap give or take any ideas on possible trades moves or anything i have a feeling this might be it for lidstrom he said theres no way hes playing til 50 hopefully he helps out the team if he returns and signs something like 1-2 years -700,000k -1mill that alone clears from him 7.5mill now Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Not many people going to give up much to get them when they can get these two underwhelming players on the cheap over the summer. Leino is probably worth riding out on his 800k salary. If he can get things jumpstarted, he will be worth the wait for the price. If not, they let him walk in 2011. Cleary has a NTC and will go nowhere either. Meech is not on the list because he is as good a sixth/seventh defenseman as just about any other, and better than most, in the NHL. Why does that make him untradeable? Just because they're the few that don't have a no trade clause doesn't mean its realistic for some of them to be traded. Toskala sucks, and flip is better than stepniak plus we don't need a goalie and leino may seem like he sucks, but he's hella cheap and still has one more year left.
