The Russians are saying that they may change their roster before the Olympics based on performance. I don't know if I see anything wrong with that or not. Like the regular season or playoffs, you ride who's hot, right? Or, do you stick to who you name 2 months prior?

The article you link to is worthless. It says that the NHL opposed Russia's claim, and the IIHF backed Russia. End of story, end of thread?

Sounds like, once again, the NHL brass is trying to throw it's weight around in the international hockey community where they're opinions are duely noted but thankfully, they don't make da rules. The IIHF and the Olympic committee have the last say, and the NHL's leadership can go Gary Bettman themselves.

With this being said, if Franzen somehow made his return before the olympic break, does anyone think Sweden would add him last minute, or still no because he'd be rusty?

If he could play atleast a game or two before the Olympics and looked okay I don't see why they wouldn't take him over Modin..

At ease. Stand down. Take a pill.

Oooo, what kind? Can I have some?

Hey! Parade rest, attention, about face, forward march.

Wait, what?

God, I love Christmas Parades!

They can change their roster til 15th February or so.

You tell em.

Why don't we wait for the IIHF's response before questioning Russia's potential rule breaking. The topic title is based on the position the NHL takes, which their own deal and they will spin it the way they want to. *shrugs*

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with getting the IIHF to clarify either.

They took Modin over Sami so I wouldn't put it past them to leave the Mule out.
