Sorry I wasn't able to say hello earlier...been pretty busy over here. I did however have time to go see the game in person. Not too enjoyable from my point of view, but your boys were clearly the better team tonight. It seemed that Detroit won the large majority of the loose puck battles along the boards, and the Sharks had trouble getting through the neutral zone all night. The Wings didn't look like a team that is struggling with injuries, which scares me even more when they become healthy and will be seeded lower than they should come playoff time. Just looking at the stats, it would indicate that the Sharks had the advantage and that was clearly not the case. That seems to be the Sharks' problem and it has been for a while. Stats wise and on paper they're fantastic...it's that little something extra that wins you tough games and brings home a Cup. For whatever reason the Sharks still haven't figured that out. Hope all is well over here. I'll try to be less of a stranger in the future. :)

Nice to have you visit whenever. I think last night's game surprised a lot of us, too. In a nice way, of course. ^_^

Wow.. i'm kinda proud how they played tonight.. first complete game of the season.. only took 44games or something due to injuries and whatnot... more jump in datsyuk and zetterberg tonight.. and helm.. what can you say... stunning :)

Wish I coulda watched this whole game but I saw the 3rd period and saw the highlights on TSN. Seemed like a pretty solid effort. I was also very proud of seeing the way they played. Although having said that, it didn't seem like the Sharks were particularly motivated for this game like previous times we've visited the Shark Tank.

He obviously wasn't referring to the score board or the turnover he had that turned into a goal. They out shot us by 10 but Jimmy performed great. Nabokov on the other hand did not.

I really can't think of many shots that were difficult for Jimmy to stop.

Detroit's defense really kept the Sharks from generating anything in their zone. Blocking shots, clogging passing lanes, etc. They did it all.

Shout out to TheSupafly!

That was the best team effort since before those two debacles against Chicago. Newfie's the man. He's really provided a much needed spark since his return. Z hasn't been a standout yet his two games back, but it's no coincidence that Datsyuk has stepped it up since his return. And Taz--I've been saying that for all the kid brings to the table, he really needs to learn how to finish to be a complete player. He's gained a lot of confidence with the puck on this trip and man, does he look dangerous now. Way to go, kid.

btw, everyone see the Wings' travel schedule coming off the West Coast swing? San Jose-->Long Island-->Detroit-->Dallas. Yah NHL.

that was fitting, since they let him face 51 shots the game before. Maybe a light bulb came on???

Stuart was awesome. That's the guy I used to love as a Shark, and was so happy to see don a Wings jersey.

+2. Though I'm not sure anyone here should be fans of the loser point. In the past it's only meant that other teams were artificially closer to the Wings than they would have been without it. But the Wings missing the playoffs because of it would be the final nail for sure.

 But..the Wings have more loser points than most of the teams in the hunt.

Name one more then? The 2-1 win against chicago wasn't complete nor was the 3-2win against washinton....

Did ya'll notice that zetterberg and datsyuk doesn't seem to play shorthanded anymore they both got 0secs of icetime while shorthanded, miller, eaves, helm sure help them alot, they have more 5on5&pp energy.

9-1 over Columbus, 2-0 over Boston, 3-1 in Calgary pop up in my mind.

Edit: The game earlier in the week in PHX was also extraordinarily solid. We completely suffocated them, their only goal was on a 5 on 3 PP. The much higher ranked home team never looked like winning.

The BJ game they had so many lucky bounces everything went in and it was more their team and goalies sucked rather then wings playing complete...calgary game i cant really remember.. the phoenix game was complete too but i thought the goals wings score last night were real nice goals while in the phoenix game holmstrom tipped in two with alot of luck ;) maybe should have been a 2-1 win instead

So the goal that Howard allowed, was it due to him playing too far out of the net?

No it was due to the very bad rebound control he has... <_<

That is hilariously amazing. Ozzie! <3 <3

So the goal that Howard allowed, was it due to him playing too far out of the net?

I think it was a combination of many things. Yes, had he been about a foot back in the blue zone of happiness, he probably would have made the save. But he might not have made the initial save. He was very far out of the net, lost sight of the rebound and had, like, five guys standing around him and falling on him (both Wings and Sharks) and then Marleau lifted it and put it away. It was a good goal.
