Well, when it comes to Williams, I just feel like we've seen this guy before every once in a while only to see him float around and not go to the net enough for a significant period of games.

When it comes to Filppula, I really don't consider myself a huge fan. I just expect different things from him than you do and that's fine. I'm okay with the fact that you and I will never ever see eye to eye on his production.

I agree about Williams. Despite my blatant distaste for him in the past, I've made every effort to be positive about his return. But at the end of the day, you've got to look at history and recognize that there's a real strong chance that he'll have spurts of production followed by extended scoreless-streaks. No one's seemed able to reach him before, so I don't have a ton of faith that it'll change this year.

I've pondered the idea the last couple games of what that line might do with Williams centering. Considering Flip's been struggling on face-offs lately, maybe it wouldn't be such a horrible experiment to simply see what Williams might do in such a role.

And another thing, overall production theories aside, it's also fair to say that Flip has been another guy who's shown a tendency towards streaky play. And while some like to note that his points have increased every year, his goal totals have been dropping.

And then again, Miller. You can't knock the guy, but we still don't know much about him in general and it's quite likely that he could disappear as guys come back. I don't like it and again, I'm not trying to be negative, I just don't want to be unrealistic with my expectations either.

Anyone think that the Wings might somehow acquire a solid veteran 4th line center?

I mean, -11 in 20 games for Abdelkader isn't... That's just not good no matter how you look at it. If they keep Pav and Z together (which they probably won't everything considered) then I would think Abdelkader is your 4th line center but maybe he needs more time in GR.

Babcock made it clear, though, that when Johan Franzen returns to the lineup Tuesday, he will split up Datsyuk and Zetterberg.

"Listen, we've played Homer with Pav and Z through the year and it's not like they've been on fire by any means," Babcock said. "When we get Mule (Franzen) back, I don't foresee them playing together. I think we'll split them up and play Pav with Mule."

Babs is right though in that they haven't been on fire. Why is that? Whatever happened to the Euro twins? Were they just separated for too long started last year? Or is it simple them not playing very well?
