zettie85 106 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 You don't think the Wings have the same caliber leadership, or better? It would add to that great leadership we have. If we had either of the 2 we would be better off then without.
elriqo28 2 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 Crosby, just because of Millbury/McGuire have orgasms when they talk about him. Also, because Millbury called him a "great two-way player". WHAT? we all know Mike Millbury knows anything about hockey! I can't stand NBC's staff.
zettie85 106 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 (edited) we all know Mike Millbury knows anything about hockey! I can't stand NBC's staff. He is my favorite on HNIC but that could be because I hate Kelly Hrudey so much. Edited January 24, 2010 by zettie85
Carman 387 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 You don't think the Wings have the same caliber leadership, or better? As a committee sure. But our star players sure aren't leading by example so far this year. Oh and people that say Crosby doesn't play any defense are lying to themselves. The guy is absolutely amazing at winning puck battles in the defensive zone, wins faceoffs, plays the PK in key situations(Which isn't that common for a teams main offensive player) and puts up points in over a PPG pace along with becoming a bigger shooter. He might not be a Selke candidate, but he certainly improving that part of his game. There wouldn't be another player in the league I'd want on my team then Sidney Crosby. Uncle Danny 155 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 Easy. Pronger by a few country miles. I hate the hype around Sid, but love watching him play. Sure, he's a little vanilla off the ice, but why would that make me hate him? I feel more of a rivalry with him than anything approaching real hatred. Much like I felt for guys like Forsberg back in the day. I may talk trash about him and hope he has a horrible season, but I sure as heck respect his talent and the way he plays hockey. As someone else stated previously, Pronger is a straight up villain. Sure, he's a talented guy and a proven winner, but there isn't much I respect about the way he approaches the game. He seems to enjoy hurting people. No, sir, I don't like him.
Datsyuk2Zetterberg 1 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 Pronger is a dog turd. I don't even hate Sidney, I only hate him when he plays the Wings or is given a stanley cup
rage 24 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 For sure Crosby. I hate him even more after watching the game today. He's a little whinny *****. It's like he expects all these calls for him since he is, CINDY CROSBY!! He's a joke. I hate him.

beepbeep 3 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Crosby. Still can't believe the disrespectful little s*** didn't shake our captain's hand and everyone made excuses for him when it happened. Curious as to what you think the media's reaction would have been if Lidstrom would have been the one to leave the ice without congratulating Crysby.

Barrie 900 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 I have to vote for Sid. I don't think there's anyone in sports right now who annoys me more. I'm even ok with Malkin. I think Crosby got to much credit for last year's Championship, when Fleury and Malkin were the true leaders of the Pens. Call me crazy, but despite all the bad blood and playoff games against him, I've never really minded Pronger too much. He was someone I would have liked having on the Wings. Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Curious as to what you think the media's reaction would have been if Lidstrom would have been the one to leave the ice without congratulating Crysby. I think they would have been pretty hard on him, considering how long he's been in the league and how many times he's been in that situation before -- something along the lines of "he should know better". That said, I can't see Nick ever doing anything like that. He's very much a graduate of the Steve Yzerman School of Captaincy. As for who I hate more, Pronger or Crosby.........tough choice. I'll go with both. They both are equally deserving of my scorn.

RedWingAbner 13 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 I hate Crosby because the league is forcing him down everyone's throat. Watching that game, good God, it's like they are just determined that ALL WILL LOVE CROSBY. Pronger is what he is. Crosby is just what the league made him. edicius 3,269 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 The media would have crucified him. Just like the media gave HIM s*** for missing the ASG, but not Crosby. Crosby was "heroic". (and for some reason, my typing on LGW is screwed up...can't select where I want to actually type my text. Anyone else having that problem? toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Curious as to what you think the media's reaction would have been if Lidstrom would have been the one to leave the ice without congratulating Crysby. Technically speaking, that is what happened isn't it? Crosby took too long and Lidstrom was the one who actually left the ice without shaking hands? Crosby shook the hands of several other Wings players who stuck around. So, that's one way of looking at it. Personally, I'm not on either side of the fence, I think the whole situation was not a situation at all and was blown out of proportion. If it wasn't Crosby, probably wouldn't have been discussed at all.
Copenhagen848 58 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 I've never hated an NHL player as much as I hate Crosby....after watching/listening to his post game press conferences over the past two Cup Finals, I lost all respect for him. I didn't mind him until I heard him complain and make excuses for every little thing, and wouldn't give Hank any credit for shutting him down in the '08 finals, skating over to the refs after every little play where he was knocked down, tied up, etc. I'll never forget when one reporter asked him about Hank totally shutting him down during one game in '08 and prevented him from scoring a sure goal he said "I don't see what the big deal is, I didn't really think it was that great of a play". He's just a reminds me of a spoiled, arrogant, little ***** and I hate him.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Crosby. Only because while Pronger is a goon on the ice, he seems like a good guy off it. Crosby is an arrogant spoiled brat in both instances.

Stu in Israel 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Cindy has never gone for the Captain's knees (or any body part he knew to be weak) with intent to injure. Cindy has never blamed physics for, putting someone's head into the glass and laughed about it. I make fun of Cindy, just because it is the in thing to do. I actually like the guy and feel he will grow into the role into which he has been thrust. I respect his talent. His mistakes are just that- mistakes. Bad hockey etiquette, Bettman-fed opinions- those are annoying. He's not a villain. I hate Pronger. Yeah, he's got talent. That's it. Great post 55fan! Some Wings' fans "hate" Crosby just because he's a good, possibly a great player (originally hyped as the one to break all Gretsky's records!) and that's a "sick" reason to hate someone (because they're not on your team!). On the other hand, Pronger could be called a "dirty" player whereas none of the Wings' defensemen has ever been called that.
