Players who did well:

Helm, Eaves, Draper (great energy from these three guys), Filppula (tons of speed, energy, played aggressive), Lidstrom (was vintage Lids tonight), Kronwall (really promising return, 2nd best defenceman), Bertuzzi (sharp performance, good chemistry with Flip).

Players who did poor:

Ericsson

Players who should've stayed home:

Rafalski (+3, wow, stats are meaningless), Stuart.

wow. the wings are turning 'mailing it in' into an art form. :ranting:

seriously, how does a team blow 4 two-goal leads in five games? how does that happen.

why is nothing being done about it?

i hope babs throws some chairs against the ******* wall in the dressing room, because if he's as complacent in there as he is behind the bench then this team is in some real ******* trouble. :ranting:

I don't remember ever being this upset after a hockey game. I don't even know what to say. This team is so full of fail right now, it's mind boggling. I will always live and die with the Red Wings, but seriously, this s*** needs to end.

Game 7 last year?

I wanted to murder all the kittens and puppies at the animal shelter after that game.

Stuart needs to be benched at least 2 games. -3 and no points should not be tolerated after a collapse like this. You can't blame Howard for every goal, but why was he already down on the shot by Doan? Please, someone out there whos a goalie tell me why goalies flop on the ice in the NHL like they do?? I NEVER see it in junior hockey or college hockey.

Easy solutions are to

1) Bench Stuart and bring up Kindl.

2) Start Ozzie in Minnesota

3) Get Homer and Mule back, which will happen pretty soon.

You need to get off the computer and go to bed...

Honestly, are you that big of a baby? My point is valid and you want to go and call me out because it was said before? IT WAS SAID BEFORE BECAUSE IT IS TRUE! Just go away.

Another terrible defensive game by the Wings at the end.

Not blaming Howard, he had some great plays, but this game showcased the 2 things he needs to work on most. Rebound control and puck movement.

The first goal was 100% due to inability to control a rebound and the second goal was somewhat the same. Every time Howie comes out to play the puck I hold my breath. That being said he also made some huge saves when it was 2-2 to keep the team in the game and until the defensive meltdown in the last 2 minutes was having a tremendous game.

Only difference is that when the same thing happened to Ozzie against Washington the loss was all his fault, when it happened to Howard it was a bad defensive effort... (on the LGW forums)

Team should have won that game and the entire team thought it was won and stopped playing with 2 minutes left in the game...disgraceful game...

They need to rebound and win tomorrow...bad...

Well, if we just keep doing everything right then things will work out. that's probably what babcock will say tonight and we'll do the same thing tomorrow.

Zetterberg had a pretty bad game too, he took some piss poor lazy ass penalties...

LOL we actually stay in a playoff spot and gain a point on the Preds after this brutal showing or non showing i guess, Ducks also lost.

The way this team is playing they must be in the locker room like, "hey guyz inching up on that 7th spot, we doing good"

Tonights game = absolutely laughable

Lidstrom was great offensively, but wasn't very good in his own end.

That icing play with 30 seconds left and the inability to tie up the stick in front on the tying goal is proof.

Despite what it may have looked like, that icing was the right play. He had no time whatsoever to make a better play. And a little time to rest and a faceoff is definitely better than coughing up the puck.

Spot on. This is my absolute most despised attitude in the game, you know why? Because it fails. Lewis used to say this over and over. The trick is to adapt and change things. If its not working change it, if it works, do more.

At least Nashville lost...

and somehow, magically, we're still the eighth seed. i guess we have to look at the positives and move forward from here. but if i see this team give up one more time after securing a lead, i'm going to punch a hole in the wall!

1st off I was merely using your POST.. Not trying to call YOU out on a personal level.. You take this way to personally dude you seriously need help....

I know its true but why do we have to be broken record around here is all... as for me going away.. No way I like it here... You on the other hand need to relax and understand.. It's not a personal issue.. Your the only one taking it that way....

It is crazy how bipolar this place can get.

And for people saying the Wings don't deserve to make the playoffs:

Maybe you haven't watched teams around the same rank as us. It's how teams in 6-12 seeds play. You're comparing the Wings to their usual 1-2 seed play from previous seasons. There is a reason that teams in those middling places are there. You're seeing it.

This. If we keep blowing these leads then yes, kiss the playoffs goodbye. I really don't think we will keep playing like this though. The olympic break will give most of the players the break they need and after we'll be back to full health. I've still got a ton of hope for the team, but with every blown lead i lose a little bit.

Every game, we have around a half period where we look like the team we were last year, and in the case of tonight, it was right after the 2nd yotes goal. We pick it up and will score a goal or two then it looks like we get tired.

Our best players are going to the Olympics, so the Olympics won't be a break.

They couldnt' have come in a worse season.
