another 2 points down the drain....... atrocious

i mean, i'm not happy about being down by one at the end of one, either. but the game is hardly over. if ozzie can tighten things up, or howard gets in, i have faith the team and get a couple more.

i don't have *high* hopes, but i do have hopes!

The guy seems to be a f-ing head case. . . I say bring up Larsson. . . Ozzie just can't get it done even in a backup role anymore.

This shows you are not actually paying attention to the Grand Rapids Griffins at all...

http://theahl.com/stats/player.php?id=2479

Those are the stats... 3.03 GAA 0.899 Sv%

Now lets look at his game log.

http://theahl.com/stats/gamebygame.php?id=2479

He has had 3 good games out of 13 since December 20th...and has raised his GAA by at least 0.5 in that time frame...

Larsson is struggling worse than Ozzie...

Just saying.

I still don't think this is relevant until he's gotten the chance to play a couple games in a row. I don't care if it's Osgood or Brodeur, it takes awhile to get going after not playing much at all and when you've got a defensive group giving up breaks like we've been lately, it can be a real ugly situation for a rusty goalie. Howard let in 3 goals in 5 minutes last night. Again, not blaming him, and not saying our goalies shouldn't help us out, but ragging on a rusty Osgood or a burnt out Howard when the guys in front of them aren't helping much doesn't make a ton of sense.

And after watching those goals, I'm definitely not going to get pissed at Osgood. Make no mistake, he could do better, but they weren't s*** goals by any means either rusty or not.

His job is to be a back-up. There are back-ups all over the league that have to come in and play rusty. No excuse for Osgood.

Soo true. Btw Honeybaked>Victory Honda.

Oh and if anyone that is actually happy with Osgood's performance please elaborate. I understand the need for Osgood, but you seriously cannot be happy with his performance so far in this game can you?

If they aren't horrible goals then the goaltender shouldn't be at fault for them.

First was wide open net after a perfect pass (Osgood had to block the net from the shooter and commit to him)

Second was right over the shoulder after a behind the net pass.

Third was a tip.

I'd like to know where the defense is in all of this. How many games are they just going to forget what to do in waves like this?

^THIS^

The first goal Ozzie made the smart play.

The Second goal...was a beautiful shot...

The third goal a deflection off a bullet of a shot...

None of those goals are Ozzie's fault...

But I am still disappointed he let in 3 on 6 shots, even if it was the defense's fault.

faith?

this is not how u respond after being embarrassed twice in a row at home

at least someone else understands. . . no way we should have lost to LA and PHX AT HOME WITH A 2 GOAL LEAD

I don't see the killer instinct that they need.

Only 30 games left, gang. . . and we have a 6 game road trip starting Sun

Defenses aren't perfect, especially ours lately. But still you would and should expect a goaltender to make a couple key saves, especially towards the end of the period.

I guess Babcock is smart for not playing Osgood after all.

I'm the type that bases my opinion on what I see from stats and watching games. I look how Osgood played in the playoffs last year and look at him this year there is a clear difference.

I'd expect Osgood to make timely saves, that's how he has made his career.

Question: Is there a difference between how ozzie played last regular season vs. this regular season?

This season: 2.83GGA .896SV% GP 20 7-7-4

Last season: 3.09GGA .887SV% GP 46 26-9-8

I would say we had way more offense to win those games last year. We had virtually no injuries all year. Ozzie was arguably worse last year. His little, scrawny ass won us a cup on 2008, and almost in 2009.

I am not trying to be an Ozzie slappy, but the stats tell the tale.

This team appears to have no faith in itself the way they're playing now.

How can you blame the fans for not having it either?

I guess I don't blame anyone. I just don't like it. I can't NOT have faith in the team, so it's weird to me for people to be so down on them, deserved or not.

Osgood hasn't b een playing bad, but for some reason these type of goals are getting past him but not Howard. Bizarre.

I agree though, I think he should be given the next start, just to see if he can get in a rhythm.

What a brutal game so far. The only good thing is that Datsyuk and Lidstrom are on freaking fire! (Finally!)
