Ericsson a healthy scratch tonight

Maybe the Wings will try to acquire a capable 5-6th defenseman before the deadline? Sure Lilja might be back but such a trade would make me feel a lot warmer and fuzzier inside.
I'd rather take that 3rd line center, unless Williams is the guy. We could trade Williams to get someone.

Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Holmstrom

Franzen-Filppula-Bertuzzi

Miller-"X"-Cleary

Draper-Helm-Eaves

+ Maltby, May/Leino

Can't say that I'm terribly shocked. Ericsson has been a turnover machine lately unfortuatnely. I have little doubt he's with the team for the long haul but for right now, he has been struggling badly. Just a short-term thing hopefully.

It seemed like the wings had less crazy turnovers with him out, dont have the stats it was just the feeling i had after watching the game... hopefully he get his head straighten out and start playing more like a pro.

Meech was pretty good tonight, guys. Props where props are due.

And the break will do Ericsson good. Like Babcock said, sometimes in a non-stop grueling season things just pile up on a player. Especially for a young one, a break gives them a breather to stop the bad habits and think about things.

But it looks like he'll be back, Babs just said he doesn't think Kronwall will be back tomorrow night.

While we're giving people their due credit, Lebda was also very good last night. That was one of our d-core's better performances of the season as a whole. It helps that San Jose doesn't forecheck against us, mind you, but I'm not going to get into that.
