Hmm....after the Olympic break, the NHL on NBC features Pittsburgh against Boston, and the following week features Pittsburgh against Tampa. Naw, there's no pro Penguin bias or anything. It would only be the what, fourth consectutive week the Penguins are on NBC? (excluding the Olympic break)

Geez, and I actually LIKE watching HD hockey. But not with those matchups. Sorry, NBC, I'll play NHL 10 or something while those games are on.

unbalanced officiating?? Washington had game 7 at home and lost by 5 goals...and you call Crosby a whiner

Pittsburgh had such an advantage throughout the playoffs in terms of officiating, it truely was a travesty to the integrity of the game. But in Game 7 of Washington and Pittsburgh, it really was this that changed everything.

Oh there was a thread already =)

Crazy game none the less, officiating was crap per usual but it was awesome other than that.

Ovechkin is on pace for 124 points after missing 8 games, which would make that the highest PPG since Mario Lemieux in 1995-1996. He's also got a +41 rating.

Mike Green is on pace for 77 points in 77 games this year. Hopefully he doesn't get hot and beat Lidstrom's 80. Anyone think they'll finally give him a Norris this year?

No, Crysby has the Norris locked up for that one shot he accidently blocked and drew a penalty for.

I don't think so.

And for the record, I'm not really rooting for Mike Green to get the Norris. I'm just a realist and I realize that the judges will often overlook the defensive lapses in favor of offensive dominance.

Nah, only reason he was nominated last year was because he was the first D-man to get to 30 goals in forever. I think the league has gotten over the hype of those goals and realizes that he is still pretty inept on the other side of the ice...hence why he's not playing for Canada.

The final infractions were whistled against Orpik, who lashed out at Semin for overacting to get the high-sticking call in overtime.

''He does it all the time. The kid's a baby,'' said Orpik, who drew a game misconduct from the penalty box because he kept complaining to the officials. ''He does it all game long. I've got zero respect for the kid.''

I'm amazed that Orpik got a game misconduct for complaining. Is this something we should expect from now on or is it just a one time occurrence where the league can point out, "See, we do our jobs" and all that BS?

Considering they have one of the league's dive/whine experts as their captain.

True. At one play during the game, Ovi gets a very light shove to his side and he goes down hard to the ice and lays there trying to draw a penalty while the play goes back to his zone. He then gets up after he realized no penalty would be called and the announcers call him a "trooper". That is embarrassing soccer diving and should have no place in this game. Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Lidstrom would never dive like that. They would just get up and keep playing.

The Pens won't repeat if they bump up against the Caps this year, which may not be until the ECF. But they won't beat Washington. I'd go to Vegas and bet my soul on it.

I had to look it up because I also rememebered it vaguely. Ben Eager in the third period of the Game 4 win.
