Could Williams be the one traded by Friday?

<_<

On this team, anyone not named Lidstrom is considered a pylon and garners constant complaint at any point during the season.

So, that's relative...

Lilja offers a solid PK-ing and shot blocking presence. Played solidly before he went down.

Like I said, we know what Lebda has to offer.

We need to see if Lilja can get back to form in consideration for next season. I don't think that's desperate.

Justifying dumping an offensive player (Williams) on a team struggling for offense to make room for a 6th defensemen who hasn't played an NHL game in 12 months is something...if not desperate

I never said we should move Williams to make room for Lilja.

All of my Williams talk has been only speculation for a acquiring an additional forward.

I do not think moving Meech, Lebda, and waiving May to bring up Lilja is desperate.

Don't even get me started...

Osgood is no good for this team they are better off trading him, cut some salary and add a backup that can stop a beachball.

that's because you're thinking logically - not everyone here does that...

Yeah lets just completely throw him away for some goaltender with no playoff experience simply because he is the "hot goalie" right now.

You remember 2006, do you not?

Nittymaki, 600k caphit... trade for osgood + pick etc?

Nitti is the starter right now for TB ... his stats are far stronger than Mike Smith. No way TB trades him for Osgood.

Folks, playoff experience is overrated, you can ride a hot young goalie and go pretty far ... look at Hiller.

Look at Legace. And Conklin.

Btw: Hiller made it to the second round. Whoopde freaking doo.

Well.. if a trade did not happen by now it means that Holland was not able to trade the player he wants to dump... i.e. no takers.

He still has, I think, until Sunday or until he actually activates Lilja to waive someone else. I am SURE there would have been takers for Lebda.... he is a reasonably priced defensemen who has playoff experience and everyone looks for D-men at this time of year.

My guess is that there were no takers for Williams. So you still can expect Williams to be waived as soon as Lilja is activated... probably after the Ottawa game.

2nd round is nothing to sneeze at especially beating #1 seed SJ.

What about Patrick Roy, Cam Ward, Varlamov?

Honestly, if we get in and Howard takes us to 2nd round, I'd consider this a pretty good ending to a turbulent season. Of course, once you get in you want to go all the way but ...
