Part of that is going to be Babcock keeping his TOI down. At the end of 1, only Ericsson, Draper, Williams, Maltby and Miller have had less ice time than Franzen.

Exactly. After missing so much time, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Franzen was running on largely on adrenaline for those first two games. Babs has mentioned before that you usually see a guy play really well his first game back, and then have a bit of a drop off after that.

No need to rush him in too soon, coming off such a major surgery. Get him game time, keep his shifts short, let him continue to build his game up.
