Anyone else feel these Canadian girls shouldn't be so jubilant when they score (their fans as well) - I mean the Swedes aren't even getting the puck outta their own end...Just a shalacking.

Since I'm rooting for the USA women, I hope they get their hopes right into orbit. I can't believe that won't be a helluva game. And then of course, the USA team will bring them crashing back down to reality.

Actually the US and Canadian women have started pushing strong to allow checking in the game. They want to know why they have to wear all the pads if they can't hit each other. I would love to see checking in women's hockey.

I can get behind that. I'd love to see the girls get to play gritty out there, instead of the powderpuff 'don't touch me!' style that they're restricted to now.

Back in December there was a youtube vid that showing the lone girl on a high school hockey team. The opposing team checked her, and then she ended up in a fight with one of their guys. It was awesome. Girl held her ground. I was proud.
