2010 Winter Olympics - Finland vs Germany (Group C)

Finally able to watch the game. I'm just going to post my thoughts here as I go along. I'm in the middle of the 2nd.

So far I feel like I've witnessed Finland having the best blend between puck possession and chip and chase. Their timing and synchrony between all five guys looks absolutely amazing.

Almost forgot, how about that stickhandling by Filppula near the early parts of the 2nd? That's what playing keep away with Datsyuk every day will do to ya.

The Wings need more Finnish guys like these (not Pug). They like to blend nastiness with skill.

I agree. I haven't seen much from Sweden to think otherwise.

Sweden always takes those meaningless games easy and just focus getting the win. They'll probably start playing a little more against Finland just to avoid playing that extra game. They'll win the gold anyways.

Great game by Finland. I hope Germany can score a few goals before the Olympics are over, give themselves something to cheer about.

Finland has certainly looked impressive, but the real games start Sunday so we'll see. I'm selfishly hoping for an early Sweden exit, and I couldn't care less about Russia. So I'm hoping the Finns take the Bronze. (USA-Canada is my hope for the gold medal game, of course).

I'm tired of every game starting out 3-0.

In the future, they need to allow less jobber teams into the tournament. So far there's only been two competitive games, and only one of them was between good teams.
