Babcock has coached teams that...

Went to a Stanley Cup Final in 2003 coming up one game short of a victory...

Went to a Stanley Cup Final in 2008 and won it all...

Went to a Stanley cup Final in 2009 comung up one game short of a victory...

Won a gold medal...

Seems like a pretty decent coach to me.

I'll be the first to admit and eat crow... Babs did a phenomenal job once into the elimination rounds, an even better job in OT of the gold medal game.

I'll happily eat even more crow if he can get our Wings back to the Conference finals...

I'd like to point out one thing, even though this is an old thread. And I'm not saying Babcock is bad. I'm a strong supporter of him.

BUT. I see no discussion about Todd McLellan. Why is that? I personally think that he was more responsible of that successful game style than we would think. I'm not saying McLellan is better coach than Babcock. But I do think we lost a lot when he left.

From many visits here you will notice just about any critique of a Red Wing not named Rafalski, Draper, Osgood, Maltby, May, or Ericsson will automatically make you the antichrist of LGW.

Never question the coaching. No matter what it is, it is all the players. They probably didn't need a coach.

I can't believe Lebda was left off that wonderful list. lol
