cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted March 3, 2010 And now, a style icon; from Toronto Star : It's called the Babcock now. The red silk necktie worn by coach Mike Babcock Sunday – when the Canada's Olympic men's hockey team beat the U.S. winning gold in nailbiting overtime – has captured attention throughout the Games. By Tuesday the tie, with its conservative diagonal stripes and McGill University shields, was sold out. ...
Grim 5 Report post Posted March 3, 2010 (edited) I'll be the first to admit and eat crow... Babs did a phenomenal job once into the elimination rounds, an even better job in OT of the gold medal game. I'll happily eat even more crow if he can get our Wings back to the Conference finals... Finnish Wing 110 Report post Posted March 7, 2010 I'd like to point out one thing, even though this is an old thread. And I'm not saying Babcock is bad. I'm a strong supporter of him. BUT. I see no discussion about Todd McLellan. Why is that? I personally think that he was more responsible of that successful game style than we would think. I'm not saying McLellan is better coach than Babcock. But I do think we lost a lot when he left.
zettie85 106 Report post Posted March 7, 2010 From many visits here you will notice just about any critique of a Red Wing not named Rafalski, Draper, Osgood, Maltby, May, or Ericsson will automatically make you the antichrist of LGW. Never question the coaching. No matter what it is, it is all the players. They probably didn't need a coach. I can't believe Lebda was left off that wonderful list. lol
