how has the game looked?

I can tell you at the end of the second period it's like the USA team is playing the old Minnesota Wild. Their blue line defense is very good. Our guys are gonna have to keep their patience and I think speed up the action. I can't believe that goal didn't count. :ranting:

US isn't driving the net nearly as well here as in the first game against the Swiss.

That's the other part of the problem of getting into their zone. I liked Olcyzk's (sp?) idea of the guys at the blue line moving - not standing still - keep the puck moving into the bad guys' zone.

Can the Swiss pull off this miracle!!??

I love the olympics but i just cant root for my own country when there team is stacked with NHL players who get paid millions of dollars. NHL players do not belong in the olympics should be the college kids and who ever else is great at ice hockey who is not pro. That is why the miracle on ice is such a great story.

In all honesty, that was as close to the line as you could possibly get. At 0.2 seconds, the puck was visibly not across the line, at 0.1 it had disappeared and wasnt visible for about .5 seconds later. I believe in international rules, in the event on a non conclusive goal, its a no goal.

I really don't know if that was a goal or not, it was just so exceptionally close either way. Lets hope they have a camera angle we didn't!

I am a bit shocked how fast they came to a ruling though. If this was the NHL, we would still be waiting for NY to decide.

NBC camera angle was pretty definitive, puck was still on the line at all zeroes, no goal.

Sportsnet just showed the feed that the IIHF goes by and their time... Clearly no goal, puck was right exactly on the line as the clock hit 0.0

by the Sportsnet original feed I was gonna say that I thought it was in

I was torn with this emotion watching the Swiss play against Canada. I mean, I am Canadian and am supposed to cheer for Canada.

BUT, watching the game I was actually cheering for the Swiss to a certain degree. Granted, that wasn't an elminiation game.

They just showed the IIHF camera, from that vantage, it was a complete no goal, puck was clearly on the line at 0.0 seconds.

Of course, during the Miracle on Ice the USSR weren't amateurs. But neither are the Swiss today.

Yeah, I just saw the alternative camera they judged from. The CTV feed was much less obvious.

Thank god there is no real question, I hate games being decided on controversial goals... especially an Olympic game.
