Guest mindfly Report post Posted February 26, 2010 He would never accept "wings salary" though... 1 year @ 1.5M i would take him but nothing more. And the trade.... only a 4th rounder or something at most.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 26, 2010 He's old and his numbers this season suck. He wouldn't even crack our top 6, so it's not worth pursuing him.
russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted February 26, 2010 Wings need to have salary in=salary out on any trade they make...I highly doubt they will trade for anybody let alone Kozlov.

mmamolo 287 Report post Posted February 26, 2010 no thank you Agreed. I'm not that big on nostalgia anyways and even if I were, cap-wise it makes zero sense. I say the Thrashers sense him and Afinoganov to the Devils and they can join Kovalchuk and make an all ex-Thrasher line
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted February 26, 2010 He's a season removed from being a point per game player. He's worth taking a shot at in the offseason for around 1 million. He's definitely not worth getting now with his current contract.

SweWings 45 Report post Posted February 27, 2010 He's also a season away from retirement. If we're entering a rebuilding phase then this is definitely a factor the team needs to consider - doesn't necessarily mean he isn't a bad off-season signing.

Uhhhh not rebuilding. If anything, reloading. And no thanks on Kozlov.
Jaymz99 2 Report post Posted February 27, 2010 Bring back #13 Dats...........I mean Kozlov. Before the Dangle Dangle there was Slava. How soon we forget what he brought to the table.
AARedWingFan 13 Report post Posted February 27, 2010 I'm not one to crunch numbers, in fear of making a mistake that makes me look absurd, but if the Wings can get Kozlov without giving too much, I think he would be a great addition to the 3rd line, or possibly the 2nd line if he steps it up. VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted February 27, 2010 Bring back #13 Dats...........I mean Kozlov. Before the Dangle Dangle there was Slava. How soon we forget what he brought to the table. He has 8 goals this year. As much as I love Kozlov (and rooted for him coming here briefly) he just doesn't add as much as I thought he might earlier. The team needs goal scorers and he has just as many as Darren Helm, and one less than Patrick Eaves. True, he has more overall points, but we don't need another assist-machine on this team. The Wings won't have much time to make a decision on trades. It's March 3, giving them only two games to see how the Wings bounce back after the Olympics. Holland will have to decide whether to stand pat and hope the Wings get things together with the Olympic distraction out of the way or to judge the team based on their consistent performance prior to the Ottawa game and put together a package. Guest Crymson Report post Posted February 27, 2010 Bring back #13 Dats...........I mean Kozlov. Before the Dangle Dangle there was Slava. How soon we forget what he brought to the table. There's a constant factor, inhabiting the world of all living things, known as time. Organisms age. Up to a certain age, an organism's physical condition improves. After an organism's peak physical condition, that organism's physical abilities begin to wane. In other words, Kozlov's scoring abilities were notable in the 90s.... and HE GOT OLDER. He is not the same player. He does NOT bring to the table anywhere NEAR what he had back then. PEOPLE GET OLD. And he was lazy back then to begin with---nostalgia makes us forget such things. These forums have many intelligent posters. However, I think we've all seem some ridiculous posts made here and again. Easily one of the most ludicrous I've ever seen was somebody saying (in 2010!!) that we should acquire Kozlov because he was one of the best playoff scorers of the 90s. skyphoenix 153 Report post Posted February 27, 2010 It is interesting to look at Kozlov's stats from last year to this year. If this was happening last year, I would be saying make the move and he'd be a top 6 forward but since he's declined in points considerably, it'd be way too big of a risk when we need to make the playoff push.
