Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted March 1, 2010 HAHA and canada spent a millie plus on own the podium program. WTF? And all they got was the Olympic record for most gold medals won. But hey, I'm just impressed that you think the US didn't spend at least the same amount of money to train, equip and send their athletes. Did you think your athletes paid their own way? pockets 9 Report post Posted March 1, 2010 i think US is gonna be a bigger player in Winter Oly because we can actual compete in the Nordic events now which we use to be the laughing stock in. Congos to both countries for all the medals they won
Guest Four Report post Posted March 1, 2010 The US spent half of what Canada did for this years Winter Olys. But you didn't have to pay for the venues and the ceremonies and whatnot either
timothy1997 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2010 But you didn't have to pay for the venues and the ceremonies and whatnot either Yes but the USA spends the least amount of GOVERNMENT money on athletes (maybe $0). The money comes from endorsements like Ralph Lauren whom gave money to the athletes in return for the athletes wearing their clothing at the opening and closing ceremony.
