From what I can see there, I don't really have that big of an issue with this. The incoming player was on a collision course with Norrena, was headed specifically for him and made no effort to stop. If Norrena doesn't hit him there, he railroads the crease. 2 minutes well worth it in that situation.

He tried to sell it as he was getting knocked over by the forward that is for sure.

When I played Goalie in soccer I would do the same type of thing, throw my elbows into the guys chin (while holding the ball) and fall over at the same time like he ran into me.

Got away with it I would say 85-90% of the time, but the times you don't get costly, red cards in soccer, probably a fine for Norrena.

Didn't really need to go for the head. The player's visor was probably why there was so much blood. Norrena should have just bailed to his right, but the player did just come in to run him, so he should have expected something.

You and I must have watched 2 different clips. at 27 seconds into the replay you clearly see the skater putting on the brakes.

On topic I think it was just a reaction from the goaltender. I don't think he wanted to cheap shot the skater but he did so he should be fined and maybe even suspended a game. Just my 2 cents.

Agreed. The player was making a pretty clear effort to take a run at him. He got what's coming, I guess.

Maybe I just miss Ron Hextall.

Yes he was putting on the brakes, but it didn't look nearly hard enough to have stopped his momentum, even before he got bumped. Plus he put himself on a collision course with the goalie when the play was obviously dead.

I agree though, I think it was just a reaction from the goalie for the guy getting in his face. Yes it was high, but not some vicious cheap shot.
