Yah i posted the comment on Kabanov just a little bit on how i know what i said was true..I live in Moncton, and i have been to every moncton game this year, and also know a few players on the team. So what i have said about Kabby is 100% true. I like the kid cause he does have some amazing talent, its just that he has a poor attitude. Also he did get sent back to russia by the wildcats, the team played it off for the public as they were sending him back to play in the under 18 tournament for his own development must it was all about him not being liked in the locker room and his Prima Donna attitude.

I would post a link if there was one, but like i said it was told to the public that they were sending him back for development. So my source is an inside source with the team. Another thing i think you guys know was he was kicked off russia's team because as the coach said he came in thinking he was a star and he could do it by himself. I heard that the final straw for the russia coach was he told the team to wear a certain helment and jersey for practice and he showed up in complete opposite lol..I was just wondering if he would be the type of kid if detroit drafted him, would he be willing to stay in the minors for a couple of years???

If my calculations are correct we are actually 23rd overall. I've been doing what I can on keep track of which team which draft pick and If I'm not mistaken (which I very well could be) The Wings have the 23rd Spot. Check below to see if I'm correct or not.

15. New Jersey Devils

16. Ottawa Senators

17. Colorado Avalanche

18. Los Angeles Kings

19. Buffalo Sabres

20. Nashville Predators

21. Phoenix Coyotes

22. Washington Capitals

23. Detroit Red Wings

24. Vancouver Canucks

25. Pittsburgh Penguins

26. Boston Bruins

27. ?? Conference Loser

28. ?? Confrenrce Loser

29. ?? Cup Finalist

30. ?? Stanley Cup Champions

Is this correct??

We should be 21st. Remember that the division leaders pick right before the final four.

I really hope the wings take him at 21...his quotes from there sound like a kid who learned his lesson. he even says

“I’ll never come back to Russia [to play hockey]. I’m trying to show I can play in the NHL. It doesn’t matter what the [draft] number is. If a team picks me, I’ll sign the contract right away.”

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Definitely a different version of Kabanov's story.

I'd take a chance on high-end skill like that.

Its not worth the risk when we've already had 2 of our most high end prospects bolt back to Europe on us. We need guys we know for sure will be here and be able to produce.

I would be delighted if Holland picked Kabanov. However, if he does, Holland could probably trade down to get him. Giving us an extra late pick or two.

I'll trust Holland's judgment on the kid. If Wings avoid him like plague, we'll know why.

That article goes against everything we`ve heard from other media outlets. I wonder if it`s a bit of a plant done as a favour to his agent... Regardless, it sounds like he`s got too many great assets to not take a chance on. This kind of elite talent is exactly what the Wings needs more of in their system.

Plus did anyone else love that his hero is Valeri Kharlamov? How cool is that? He`s only 17 and has that kind of appreciation for hockey history...

He's probably saying that too cover his ass for the way he's acted this season. Taking a risk on him is dumb when theres guys we can get for sure that will be 25 goal scorers at least. A for sure 25 goal scorer is better then someone who might not come across.

If his skill was that far and away above everyone else's like some people are making it seem then most experts wouldnt have him slipping to the 2nd round.
