titanium2 867 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 Great career. Too bad it had to end the way it did. Did he lead the league in minuses?
MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 Great career. Too bad it had to end the way it did. Did he lead the league in minuses? No, Patrick O'Sullivan did that for him with a -

Hockey13Playa 240 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 Kind of a sad way to go out but he wasn't going to get any better or have any type of comeback season. Great career though. Miss his days in Philly! Job well done Rod!

HankthaTank 1,100 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 Had tons of respect for this guy. One of the better faceoff guys of his era and always played both ends so well. Well done Rod.
xtrememachine1 795 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 I can't friggin stand the guy, but he was great in the faceoff circle, good defensively and led a team to a Stanley Cup. I'd say he had a pretty successful career.
Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 Any opinions on whether he is a future hall of famer?I'm kinda leaning towards no..but he was such a team guy his whole career. So who knows.

wingfanatic4alltime 32 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 Any opinions on whether he is a future hall of famer?I'm kinda leaning towards no..but he was such a team guy his whole career. So who knows. Im gonna say No he only had 452 goals i dont think thats enough sadly. Joe Nieuwendyk had 564 goals and won 3 cups but he didnt even get in and this was a very weak hall of fame class imo. Swayze 81 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 His press conference was like 5 minutes long...what's that all about?

That's what i'm thinking. He fell short of 500 goals.Won a Cup,but just because you win the Cup doesn't mean you're a hall-of-famer.Your comment about Nieuwendyk makes a good point too.Brind'Amour was a great player, and a joy to watch, but unfortunately i don't think he will get in. akustyk 84 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 Mike Ricci long gone, and now Rob Brind'Amour retiring... jesus... there's no real churro left in this league... congrats to a great career! perhaps not a Hall of Fame, but sure bet worth admiration. 1 Uncle Danny reacted to this
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted July 1, 2010 Amazing how quickly he deteriorated after that Cup run in 2006 where he was a beast.
Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted July 1, 2010 His age really caught up with him after he hoisted the Cup in 2006.He's been around as long as I can remember.sucks to see him go

cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted July 16, 2010 From TSN : Rod Brind'Amour will have his No. 17 jersey retired by the Carolina Hurricanes prior to a February 18, 2011 contest against the Philadelphia flyers....
stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted July 16, 2010 From TSN : really only seems fitting, he did lead them to a cup and was basically the face (ugly as sin, but the face nonethless ) of the franchise since it's EARLY years... good for him and for the franchise for doing the right thing
