I did when he was on the Blues. Damn right I did lol. Was one of those "hate he plays for a team in your division, please f***in sign him" type guys. More hate-respect I suppose. Not like Pronger which is loathe-meh hate.

I loved Dally since first we signed him...in '07. I liked him from the start when I saw him in a pre-season game and then, as if I didn't love him enough, he beat the crap out of Corey Perry. Yey Dally!!!

Drake was also on the Wings in the early 90's. 92 I think. Just sayin'. In fact, they were his first NHL team.

Dallas Drake was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft in the 6th round, 116th overall.

Right there. When I heard about that trade I cursed Bryan Murray for beign so stupid. When you trade a goaltender for another, equal goaltender, you don't give away a great young forward!! Especially if neither goaltender is as good as the guy currently in your net anyway.

Ya, that trade worked out well for the Wings. I mean hell at least Cheveldae even played a few seasons in Winnipeg...although now that I type that that might be more of a slight on Winnipeg than anything. Still though, Drakes awesome, and the other dude we got in the trade (Bautin?) hardly played any games, if any that I remember.

It was during that playoff run that Wings’ teammates openly confused to wanting to win the Cup for Drake, who averaged 11.8 goals and 20 assists per season in 1,009 career games.

Well, this clears something up. I was once blasted for stating that the Wings wanted to win it for Dally. Now it seems that they were confused.

Congrats to Drake. I wasn't a fan before he came back to us, but he sure did win me over.

I still cry when I watch him raise the Cup.

Yeah, I wasn't a huge fan of Drake when he was on St. Louis (but I can't stand St. Louis unless they play a rival of ours) but I respected the s*** out of him.

Does anyone have the video of him fighting Draper. I remember in '07-08 they were talking about some big scuffle starting a way long time ago(I think because of Maltby, big shocker) and there being a huge pile up. Dally asked Draper if he wanted to go and Draper said yeah, just let me get out of the pile. Anyone remember them talking about this, I can't be the only one.
