I've always wondered if his wine is actually any good... The name puts me off, and the fact that it is associated with someone famous (wine with a celebrity sponsor tends to be average wine that is overpriced). Anyone know?

I have not tried them, but they look very non specific. Most only list a region at best (ex. they list Napa, instead of a specific vineyard).

That, to me, means they are most likely blended wines and would be sold off his name alone. Blended Wines, while potentially great when crafted well are are made from grapes/juice that didn't make the cut for big name wines by themselves. Typically they would be consumed as a table wine.

There are also very few reviews (much less good ones) which to me further makes it unlikely to be stellar.

They could be great tho, I'm not a wine expert (I just have an education that covered it, and live in Sonoma county).

Larionov needs to be placed on the Hall of Fame committee. A complete lack of russians on the committee is really a travesty, and a lot of russian greats have thus been completely overlooked.
