At 130 pounds, he weighs as much as four Stanley Cups, but he’s nothing but a gentle giant. When he was a puppy, I used to bring him along to the Joe for practice, and my teammates soon got used to seeing this giant black dog in the halls and in the locker room. For me, he became the team’s unofficial mascot. But not all animals are as lucky as Rueben. Thousands of animals in the Detroit area every year go without a home, food, water or adequate shelter. They’re scared, hungry and alone and deserve a chance for a better life. That’s why I’m walking in the 5th annual Mega March for Animals at Hart Plaza in Detroit on Sunday, October 3. Didn't the Wings have a calendar a few years ago w/ their dogs? I don't know if they were dogs that the Wings owned or if they were just dogs, but here's Kronner. Nik's is the only pic from that calendar that I have. Unfortunately, I didn't get the calendar. I believe I saw a photo of Hank with a dog too, but I don't have it. I believe it was his own bulldog, but I may be wrong on that. (To all the nasty folks who are thinking of posting a pic of Hank and Emma: don't even think about it!)
