haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted February 9, 2011 i do im glad matt cookes okay regardless of his past actions you hate to see someone on the ice like that Normally I'm with you, but if Cooke had gotten a career-ending injury in that fight, it just means a bunch of other players are safer. I'll take one youtube clip of Cooke getting hurt and ideally not being able to play hockey again, because it means there's gonna be fewer youtube clips of other players getting hurt. 1 stevkrause reacted to this

edicius 3,269 Report post Posted March 28, 2011 Since Savard's career is likely over, would Savard be well-served to pursue legal action against Matt Cooke or even potentially against the league for allowing a known danger like Matt Cooke to continue his antics? IIRC, Steve Moore has been in the process of doing that against Todd Bertuzzi for years. 1 commadore183 reacted to this

I believe Moore went after Bertuzzi's coach and the canucks organization at the time, for encouraging the retaliatory action by Bert. One of the main premises of the suit is pre-meditation. its going to be tougher to show premeditation on cooke's part

There's at least 2 problems with that: 1 - Cooke's hit on Savard was legal (what Bertuzzi did was not) 2 - Savard has a long history of concussions, Cooke's hit was not the sole cause of his problems. Wonder why Cooke is so villified by his hit on Cooke and Richards escapes any discussion at all for the carbon copy hit.....WARNING, WARNING.....this is not a defense of Cooke, just wondering why Richards gets a free ride.
