I heard on Rogers Sportsnet Hockey Central that the Red Wings drove up the price for Wisniewski. Columbus thought they could get him for 4 years at $16, but heard the Red Wings were interested and they upped the price. :sly:

There is nothing wrong with what Wiz got, hes exactly what the Wings needed. Him playing against the Wings isn't going to be a fun thing this year and CBJ are going to be a pretty good team if Mason can play like he did a couple years ago.

That's a great avatar. As long as you keep that I'll +1 any post you make. Even if a post telling everyone you saw me run screaming into the night cuz a spider touched me.:scared:

I don't know if it's a repeat, but Wiz is on the NHL Network talking about Detroit was never on his list because they refuse to pay market value for free-agents.

So, reading between the lines, he just wanted to get paid, and if $5.5 million over 6-years is the "market value" for a one-year wonder, I'm glad the Wings didn't pay it.

Wiz just said on NHL on the Fly that Detroit was never in his plans because they won't pay a fair price for UFA players.

Well Red Wings always do look for a good performance/pay ratio in their favor... until the E contract anyway.

I'm sure he's fine with his money tbh. Unless he really believes that he went to Columbus to... you know, win.

Yeah, nobody goes to a team like that to win. We've seen this script before. Player goes to a lower middling level team to make big bucks, then when his contract is up, goes to a contender to win.

Ya, too bad not many contenders will be too interested in a upper 30's Wiz....Nice choice Wiz, but thanks, because so far I like Ian White MUCH better...
