Right now Don Cherry is assembling his axis of evil recruiting Babcock and Peters to join him in his new league the XHL, where there is no helmets, no limitations on checking, no offsides, folding chairs for use behind the bench, and only third generation+ Canadians over 6'3" can play

In other news I heard the XFL is coming back on the radio into work this morning. Seattle is getting a team and Vince McMahon is the owner. How is the XFL still a thing in 2019?

Maybe he doesnt fit a particular stereotype. Y' now. The one about foot size. Better to let ur teammates assume, then prove otherwise.

The real question in all of this is... did Aliu shut off the music when Peters asked him?

This I wonder about, If Peters really threw a punch or dropkicked someone in the booth shouldn't it be known already? It's in the open for everybody to see, right? With multible tv-cameras and mobilephones in the stands behind the bench.

Yes. If it was true, there would be videotape and/or team reporter accounts of it.

Lol btw some dude on HF Boards got banned for saying:

"if you apologizes for what you did a long time ago you could be the prime minister in Canada, so it should be no problem for Bill Peters to continue coaching in the NHL."

Why hfboards sucks. Only sheep allowed.

I must have missed the memo where it wasn't insane for an American to think they had the ballz to talk about any other country's political climate.

Like being in a wagon fire and laughing at someone for having an untied shoelace.

So four things

1. Ron Francis is now the GM of Seattle. I hope the drama spills over to him and he gets canned b4 his job even starts.

2. Rod The Bod was apparently witness to a lot of Peters actions. Wonder what's to become of him...

3. This all explains why Dundon was doing player interviews personally and chose to gut that entire franchise when he bought it

4. Peters still not fired in Calgary

So the Sutters made the rookie kids dress up as women and drink?

Sounds like the Sutters condoned hazing, and therefore the WHL turned a blind eye?

I'm sure Carcillo was an A+ good boy and never participated in any hazing rituals or underage drinking during his time in the CHL...

Like all coaches then. Hazing of rookies has always been part of team sports. And it works for teambuilding. It is also more often than not harmless. Management usually only step in when things go to far or the hazing gets personal or only one or a few gets targeted. As they should.

Maybe something gets lost in translation here... Does hazing have to be humiliating and brutal?

Dreesing up in womens clothing and have a little too much to drink doesn't soound too bad.

Nothing lost. I just feel like it's taboo to suggest hazing works in the modern era. Universities over here are even doing away with fraternities and sororities over it.

I remember the hazing from when I was a younger lad. Some of it is definitely all in good fun and brings a team together. But some of the stuff we did was also super messed up in retrospect. I think the problem is it's sucha superrrrr fine line, and it can get crossed superrrrr easily. The group think and pressure to conform makes people act in ways and do things you would never dream of in a vacuum. I don't know what the solution there is. Boys will be boys?

In this instance yeah it looks like just a buncha dudes in drag doing some underage drinking. Pretty harmless fun if that's all it was.

I remember Avery's story about his hazing on the Red Wings. All it was was a night out with the whole team and the rookies had to cover the bill. He said they ran up sucha huge bill his year that he and Datsyuk couldn't cover it, so Papa Lidstrom quietly paid the bill without the rest of the team knowing. Love that story. Everyone should be more like Lidstrom.
