jimmyemeryhunter 2,747 Report post Posted April 10, 2015 You might want to skim Nightfall and my posts about the Kings. We actually watch their games. The salary cap did seem to screw them, I don't think Willie Mitchell is a game changer but he would've eased the blow of losing voynov for sure. What did they give up for sekac BTW? I don't recall exactly.

No Mitchell, then no Voynov, then losing Martinez in February. Throw in some lack of production on a team that already struggles to score goals in the regular season and they were done for. They traded some prospect I'm not familiar with and a conditional first rounder I think.

I didn't realize he was logging that many minutes when he was there, didn't he have a few semi-serious injuries?Haha. Sekera, not sekac. Which is why I couldn't find the trade specifics... but chea. The first round pick is a 2016 pick since they didn't make the playoffs. If LA ends up getting Mcdavid, there will be riots.

That would be hilarious! Yeah they were without Mitchell for all of 2013 due to a knee injury that required surgery. It's why they signed Robyn Regehr, who is a decent d-man, but not Mitchell. Then he may have had a concussion somewhere in there as well? In 2012 he played even more minutes. If I remember correctly he was usually their top pairing at even strength. VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted April 11, 2015 I'd like to see Marchenko brought up for the playoffs. Gotta get playoff experience sometime. And only him and Pulkinnen will be new to the whole playoff thing so it shouldn't be too risky to give him a chance. 2 TheXym and Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
