I hear ya concerning JvR - he's arguably their best forward...Just that from his perspective - he'd probably welcome a trade to get off that sinking ship since it's gonna be quite some time before that franchise is considered a Cup contender, and with his trade the Leafs would probably see some serious draft picks, and/or prospects in return.

With Hartnell we'd have some serious beard competition between him, and Hank, and Quincey.

I don't think the Wings are a team that free agents want to join. I don't think players are dying to be traded to Detroit either. That's in the past. We're a mediocre team and have a reputation for underpaying players in the free agent market. Our best players are past their primes. We're better off than Toronto and are not a sinking ship, but the rest of the bolded part of your quote can easily apply to the Wings.

BTW, I don't think Toronto's ship is sinking either. It's already sunk. Can't get any worse. Even Buffalo has some hope for the future.
