If it made him severely dehydrated and malnourished, that will literally effect his muscle mass, stamina, and fitness level for weeks potentially. For a guy who is trying to make an NHL roster only a month afterwards, it could absolutely hurt his chances. Especially, since he will need to get his body chemistry and bulk back up beforehand.
