#2551859 Saluting the fans

Posted by RedWingsRox on 25 November 2014 - 12:32 AM

Once at the end of the season is enough.

They don't shake hands after every game do they ... should we start that tradition because players respect each other?

The long suffering Maple Leafs' fans ought to be saluted each and every game for being the most fickle, arrogant, and entitled group of fans in all of professional hockey.  Hard to imagine why a guy like Phil Kessel wouldn't be interested in saluting a bunch of folks who were calling for his head after a 37 goal, 80 point season.  Ditto for Kadri.  And Reimer.

There's only one salute these s***birds deserve, and it involves something other than a stick in the air.

Maple Leafs fans, you are the problem.

I'd be pretty disgruntled after not having won a Cup since 1967.

Then they should stop buying tickets and put pressure on the organization to make some fundamental changes.  They're like Lions fans.  If you're sick of losing stop giving them money.

Is it the fans really or is it the media blowing it out of proportion?  Either is possible - even likely!  Throw a dart, it's the right answer.

I don't think saluting should be done other than at the last home game of the season, win or lose.

I'm not.  If they deserved to play, they'd be in the lineup.  Thanks to all of them for their service, but time to move on

Sentimental reasons.... plus they couldn't really be worse than what's out there tonight.  Seriously.

This went from a legit thread to a non-legit thread by talking about a non-legit thread...

I love irony!

Honestly, this is the second time a Tennessee topic was created on this forum. The first one was closed. I understand that this is hockey related - however, even though the Nashville Predators forum was closed, this shouldn't be your second home for Nashville Predators discussion.

i did not start the topic,it was a red wings fan  that started it,so please stop taking it out on me and the last i check that  this was a place to discuss the detroit red wings,NHL, and Hockey in general

It was still residual effects of that hit he took in our end.  He had temporary amnesia and thought his name was Kyle Quincey! :P

The diving and whining is what bothers me and that he has his own set of rules.

Crosby really hates playing Zetterberg we should take pride in that

I agree that the c is what makes it disgracefull, he supposed to be a leader, maybe thats why neal runs people, crosby dives, and malkin is a hack. dirty pens

If Detroit, somehow, made a deal and picked him up, I would stop being a Red Wings fan. That's how much I despise this weasel.

edit: i accidently hit enter, but anyways i agree i would not be a fan of the wings after, to be honest when we required bert, i was pissed as hell, ( i know he said he was sorry, and made a mistake) but sometimes when your a public figure you cant make those stupid mistakes.  I feel like the wings have a certin class to them, which makes us the wings, we dont have people doing stupid s*** (most of the time), i hope we get the pens in the playoffs.  When leggy speared malkin, even tho malkin is a prick too, i got pissed, its just something we dont doo, i understand standing up for your ground but hit him in the face, give him a palm, dont spear, dont sucker punch, i might be the only one who thinks that but i love leggy, everyone makes mistakes, im ranting now.... lol

poor grammar and i dont feel like fixing it

#2507540 Mike Babcock Appreciation Thread

Posted by FlashyG on 08 April 2014 - 11:35 PM

Let me get this straight, the guy just passed Jack Adams for most all time wins (with the wings), and yet he's never won the Jack Adams Trophy for Best Head Coach?? hmmm...

Bowman had to win 62 games in a season to get one.

I absolutely hate how that award is given out. Its basically the coach of the most improved team award.

He rolls out horrible lines and makes all kinds of nonsensical "gut" line-juggling decisions, but he has a great relationship with the players, if not the best, and knows how to instill confidence and pride in his team.  Which makes him the most irritating, and probably one of the best coaches, in the league today.

He's had at least some players who didn't get along with him. Filppula apparently didn't get along with him at all, which is why he didn't entertain the idea of coming back this year. Commodore believes Babcock tried to end his hockey career and hates him with a passion and there were even rumors a while ago that Zetterberg didn't get along with him.

Then again there's a saying about coaches like Babcock and Bowman. 364 days a year you hate his guts but on the 365th day you get your ring.

Pavstav nyqsyuk with 5 goals and 5 assists. Glendening bounces a puck off someone on buffalos butt to get his first goal.

Someone should seriously be named Pavstav Nyqsyuk.

In fact, if Glendening gets his first goal tonight, I demand that he name his first (or next, as the case may be) child Pavstav Nyqsyuk Glendening.

Easy win, which means that we'll either lose 28-6, or get a loser point, or maybe- just maybe- win it in a shootout.  I fear the boys won't show up against a push-over team like Buffalo.
