So proud of our boys.  This past week of hockey was nerve-wracking, stressful, and exhilarating all rolled into one.  Next week will be all those emotions magnified x 10.  Can't wait!  LGRW!!!

I just thought I would share this.  I've always been amazed at the Wings and their involvement with fans, but this particular situation is something special.

God... so many losers on this board it's hilarious. What happened to the good old days when you could beat someone's ass who deserved it and go about your business?

Huh?  Guess what?  This isn't old time hockey and the fan did nothing to Rypien.  Your video gives no rise to the argument that this particular fan deserved what Rypien did to him.  He didn't grab at Rypien's equipment or threw a punch at him. He was CLAPPING.  Since when is clapping considered an action that deserves a 'professional' (and I use the term loosely) hockey player putting his hands on someone?

I was in Dallas for his 500th goal - the fans loved him so much there. I am sure there are a lot of sad people in Big D.  It's sort of fun reading the newspapers where they are blustering saying they are fine without him.  We'll see.  No Mo, no Zubov... no heart, no soul. Turco gone?  Meh.  

I think Modano will fit into the Detroit locker room seamlessly, provide leadership to younger players, and will quickly become a fan favorite in Detroit.  At least that is my hope for him.  I am really only sad that Dallas didn't try to keep him, so he could end his career as a Star -- he is the face of the franchise after 20 years (starting as a North Star til present).  

But that's not the way the world works anymore, I guess. Good luck, Mo!

It's unfortunate that some of those very fans are now calling him a traitor for signing with Detroit.

I do hope he fits in as well, and wish him the very best with the Wings.
