We all knew this day would come, but sounds like Dats may be leaving sooner than expected. Why would he ever want to leave when he's playing with top notch talent like abby?!

While Nyquist is a little bit on the small size, I just don't understand why the Wings aren't giving him a more prominent role. Anyone who has watched him play in Grand Rapids can tell that he is by far the best player on that team. Granted I know its not the NHL, but I'm from Grand Rapids and have been to tons of Griffins games the past 2 years and he is always making plays, creating turnovers, scoring big goals, etc. He carried the line of him, tatar, and andersson on most nights...the reason Tatar and Andersson have been having their best years when in GR.
Now while I like Tatar and Andersson and what they bring to the Wings, it seems like Gus should be up instead. Only reason I can think of as to why they are keeping him in the minors is because of contract reasons. The Wings need all the cap space they can get and without Nyquist on the big club proving what he can do they wouldn't have any reason to have to pay him big bucks next year. They can easily sign him to a couple year deal worth a million or so instead. This is just my theory, but I have no other explanation as to why he isn't up and cleary and abby remain on the 2nd line instead of someone like him filling in with Dats.
He'll be a 3rd/4th liner if anything, inwhich he should be on Helms wing... as a third line with helm centering and brunner on his right wing with that beaut of a shot and speed... SPEED OVERLOAD BOYS. But seriously, Helmer should have a hell of a season with Brunner... I think.
Didn't think of him on Helm's wing, but that could be a deadly combo. Both have tons of speed and Brunner should be able to finish if Helm can't. Like it!
While Cleary has definitely not been great this year, I still think he's one of the hardest working guys on the team. His injury has obviously affected his game a lot, but he's one year removed from a 26 goal season and everyone wants him gone. Everyone has off seasons, especially when they have a nagging injury. If you wanna start talking lazy players start watching Franzen out there and talk s*** about him! Yeah sure he leads the team in goals, but he's just so damn lazy it pisses me off. He could easily score 40 goals in my opinion, he just chooses not to put the effort in every game. Can't say the same for Cleary, he at least is trying to play on one leg!
I love Nyquist...he hasn't scored yet but he's been in on several goals and he creates chances frequently! I'll be pissed if they send him back to GR. There is definitely some learning for him to do, but he deserves to be with the big club!
With everyone healthy my lines would look like this:
People have been giving Cleary so much s*** lately and he is one of the hardest working guys on the team. He's playing with one leg and still battling and grinding every shift. Did people forget that he's coming off a year where he got 26 goals, only behind Franzen's 28?

The Kings are trying to make a long playoff run this year and Stuart would definitely help that plus I'm sure he would resign there. I know it will take more than that I was just saying that is a possibility!

I really want Brad Stuart for playoffs, but since it looks like were gonna lose him to the west coast in the off-season anyways, maybe a Stuart for Brown deal. I know the Kings need scoring but they also could use another defensemen with Jack Johnson now gone. Doubt it will happen, but just a thought. Would probably have to throw in a pick/prospect with Stuart since he's a UFA. I'm sure he would resign with the Kings though! I would also do maybe Hudler, Tatar, 3rd round pick or something of that nature if the kings would want it. Think Brown would really fit in nice with the Wings. He's a righty too and loves to hit! Tatar is overrated imo anyways!

I have gotten that same feeling in the past 24 hours with the moves going on with the wings. It just feels like the Quincey trade was a precursor to something else. Maybe I'm just being hopeful that something more is going on but Kenny always seems to make deals that no one is expecting. Even though the Wings have been playing really well and have good chemistry the only thing that matters is getting it done in the post season. We can't afford to lose to the Sharks again this year! I'm sure Kenny has a plan and I do think there will be another move by the deadline.
In a related note my close friend works for the Maple Leafs and I'm not sure where he is getting his info from but he claims the Red Wings have submitted some sort of offer for Grabovski. Have no idea where he heard this and it shouldn't be taken to seriously but just thought that was interesting.
