#2010459 Kovalchuk may be staying in NJ

Posted by KrazyGangsta on 05 July 2010 - 02:48 PM

Here's what most people aren't realizing is that Brodeur is eventually going to hang up the skates and when the time does in fact come, the Devils will officially be Dead-ils considering if they stay with the system they have in place which is defense first. I have a major feeling that organization has realized that after Brodeur's retirement this team will need to start scoring and not rely on there goalie as much as they do now. So having Kovalchuk back will guarantee them with a 40-50 goal scorer which is a very good thing to have on your team.

As much as people want to say that Defense can make a goalie better and all, I agree but you also need to score to win games no matter how many saves your goalie does if you don't score you just don't win.

#2005044 1st Round Pick (21), Riley Sheahan

Posted by KrazyGangsta on 26 June 2010 - 12:08 AM

Bob McKenzie: University of Notre Dame forward Riley Sheahan (pronounced Shay-en) had to explain himself at the NHL Scouting Combine for a minor off-ice episode involving underage drinking, but NHL scouts are more interested to find out what his offensive upside is, though thatís not easy to tell when you play in the defence-first system of the Fighting Irish. Sheahan was perceived as a big, skilled point producer in junior before college and scouts are trying to rationalize meager offensive numbers as a CCHA freshman.

#2004280 Savard to waive no trade clause

Two young roster players for a 32 year old player with injury issues?

Ericsson won't be what everyone think he will be and 32 year old is not that bad, you can get a good 5 years out of him.

Trade Filppula + Ericcson for Savard.

#1995072 Steve Yzerman

There's one thing I can be sure to tell you is that Steve Yzerman has never played for the money but this time it was all about the $$$.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing Stevie in fact I'm really happy for him with this opportunity.

#1993014 What are the Pros and Cons of next season?

Posted by KrazyGangsta on 02 June 2010 - 10:46 AM

What makes you think they have a chance? PROS: Nick is coming back. Brett Lebda isn't. No Olympics. That little guy's back. We get to see some young guys from GR. Flip, Ericsson, and Howard have one more year of experience. CONS: Nick took $6.2 million. No cash for a decent free agent. There's no addition to a losing team, just subtraction. THE WINGS GOT FIGURED OUT BY THE SHARKS, who's next?

For everyone that think its a con for re-signing lids at that much I just want to let you guys know there is no other FA that could even come in the Wings and have the impact that Lidstrom on this team. Im really with him re-signing IMO best FA signing this off season. Would rather have Lidstrom over anyone.

The second this team will lose Lids, Wings will fall down to a good team from being elite.

#1992365 Lidstrom Signs 1-Year Contract Extension

Posted by KrazyGangsta on 01 June 2010 - 12:04 PM

For the poster that posted that Lids was making 7 million for the past 10 years and couldn't he take a pay cut. Just to let you know Lidstrom has been taking a pay cut his all career to keep this organization intact. Any other team would of paid 8 million and up for Lidstroms services in the past 10 years.

6 million for one year is a good deal IMO. He just took a pay cut of 1.5 million $, will play a major role in the lineup and easily is the best D in the league.

For all those people that are complaining about the pay cut wasn't enough, let me see you guys take a pay cut from your jobs.

#1990096 Yzerman Likely to Target Wings Players

Posted by KrazyGangsta on 26 May 2010 - 07:00 PM

I highly doubt Ozzie being traded unless we're not making the playoffs and we send him off to a competitor in need of a goalie / depth.

Howard is good, I'm still not 100% sold on him maybe about 85% as of now but will see how he handles next season. He needs to be better then this season he just had.

After Howard I wouldn't trust our goaltending on anyone else but Ozzie. McCollum is still not ready for NHL nor backup duty.

Assuming Ozzie is gone and Howards plays bad or get injured ... we're doomed.

As I said the only time I would be okay with trading Ozzie is at the trade deadline.

#1981279 Thanks for the Great Season, Detroit!

 Go wings Go !!!

Great season boys, we had our up and downs but still and will always be a Wings fan. I'm still proud of this team considering the two last 2 runs.
