Swimming with the Sharks 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2007 And I don't mean 2 years and 53 games. Of course, the Leafs have wasted it by blowing a 3-goal lead in the 3rd. 5-4 Buffalo with 1:30 left.

I've really never thought of him as a bad player. He has his strengths.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted March 24, 2007 Boyd the Void! (I almost made a thread on this myself) I always thought of him as a crappy player. He looks like hes having a seizure whenever he skates.
Flip-check 6 Report post Posted March 24, 2007 Ol' Boyd became a star in a franchise game on 2K3. He was on the first line with Yzerman, annihlating the opposition. There was nothing that could stop Boyd Devereaux.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 24, 2007 I think if Boyd was drafted by a different team than maybe he would have been a star player like many had thought he would be. Of course, he could be living up to that potential this season! Eh, highly unlikely, but he is playing pretty good and is looking better than he has in a long time. Louisville 112 Report post Posted March 24, 2007 I've really never thought of him as a bad player. He has his strengths. I sure did. The Void was useless with the puck. I still remember times when I would screm at the TV because he would just panic with the puck. I don't know what kind of player he is now, but there are few Wings I hated more. Guest Crymson Report post Posted March 24, 2007 Ol' Boyd became a star in a franchise game on 2K3. He was on the first line with Yzerman, annihlating the opposition. There was nothing that could stop Boyd Devereaux. In NHL 2K5 franchise mode, I traded he and Robitaille to Columbus for Zherdev and Marchant. For some reason, Columbus really doesn't like Marchant in that game. Despite the fact that he has an 82 overall ranking, I was able to get him for Williams and a 9th in another franchise game. Same here. He was just pistol whipped around here so much everyone just assumed he sucked. He played very well in the '02 playoffs.

Mila 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2007 IMO, the hatred againts Boyd was generelly overblown on this forum. By that I do not want to say he was valuable for us. Letting him go was a step in the right direction. Dats No wondering - didn't both Dats and Boyd play on the same line?

gbdet 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2007 Toronto ahead 4-1 with 16minutes left in a game they DESPERATELY need to win. 4-1 lead in the third period... ten minutes later they are down 5-4... So in a ten minute span in the third Buffalo scored 4 goals... WOW I'd be interested to watch the game tonight (against Buffalo again) to see how Toronto responds, blowing a BIG lead like that has to hurt
Guest Crymson Report post Posted March 24, 2007 (edited) Dats Dats and Boyd played on the same line with Hull. That line produced--minus whatever power play goals Hull and Dats scored--15 goals. Hull was #1 in the team in goals. Datsyuk had 6 points that playoff year; 3 and 3. Boyd had 2 and 4. Bear in mind that Pavel was a rookie. Like it's been said a million times it's really hard to convey sarcasm over the internet
