Viperar 16 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Dats has stepped it up like a man on fire who wants to hoist the cup? The other? Poor passing, can't hit an open net. What is wrong with Z?
Redwingsfan18 1 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 No idea. Wish I could tell you, he doesn't look like himself on certain plays but at other times I think he's just fine

Copenhagen848 58 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Z had a one of his front teeth blown out tonight also for what that's worth (hit in face with puck).

Booster313 138 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 (edited) Z did play better in the third but if your asking you best players to be your best players they have to score. He's not the only one that needs to hit the back of the twine, but he is one of the two we expect to do it the most. Booster313 138 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 No I don't think so...where did you get that from?
jpfalcon09 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Z did too much dipsy-doodle crap tonight when the Wings needed the puck deep and some pressure. He looked like Pav from 2006. I understand he was trying to create something, but trying to beat all 5 guys numerous times isn't going to help.
HenrikRules40 14 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 No I don't think so...where did you get that from? No no! Not you! Sorry...I should have been clearer. I mean, Viperar...did you just call Z retarded...in reference to the title of this thread. Sorry Booster313 I didn't mean you.

HenrikRules40 14 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 look sorry, maybe he needs a kick in the ass. How does that make him retarded?!?!? Look Al you're my boy but are you freaking kidding me??? The Preds are stuck to him like white on rice! He's doing what he can. He's being slashed non-stop and smothered like no tomorrow. Considering the circumstances, I don't think he's retarded. Yeah it would be nice to see more production from him. But it would nice to see more production from the rest of the team too right?

One has stepped up the other has not. Right in the beginning of the game Z had an open net and completely missed it. Yeah the rest of the team has to step up, but I would say when one of your two top scorers cannot put the puck in the net, we have issues.
EuroTwinLove40 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Ahh how quickly we forget game 1! No, he didn't have an amazing game tonight, but really besides Pavel and Ozzie, who did? He could've been better the last 2 games, but hopefully he will step it up again in game 5!

But we just need a little more out of him. We can't sit there and just accept his output right now. Its like a loving mom pushing her child. Don't even get me started on flip though... Booster313 138 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Everyone seems to want to look at one person for this loss, because well that's the easy thing to do. The fact is Hockey doesn't hinge on one player no matter how bad we want it to. The team needed to play better as a whole. The started playing hockey too late in the third. This Is Bida 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 I thought Z stepped it up at the third. I've said it once, I'll say it again... SOMEONE with some hockey smarts... Yes, he played horrid in the first couple periods. In the 3rd, he totally stepped it up and played great hockey. Maybe if the rest of the team had the same heart as him... As far as I'm concerned right now, you keep Dats, Z and Homer... trade everyone for some northern american boys! (ok maybe i'm over reacting! lol)

I don't think we really have to worry about him picking it up next time. Flip, oh Flip. Poor kid's confidence is just right now.
RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 I think it's a BIG stretch to try to call out Zetterberg after tonight's game. Of course he needs to step it up and score some crucial goals - but he is definitely not why we lost. Different guys have stepped in - Z in the first, Draper, Homer, Hudler, and Datsyuk tonight. As a team the Wings need to play better - our defense has been very shaky the last two games, and obviously our goaltending stunk it up - you can't win playoff games giving up goals like that. Hank will be fine.
jpfalcon09 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Look at the scoring breakdown in this series: Datsyuk 3 goals Zetterberg 2 goals Draper 2 goals Hudler 1 goal Homer 1 goal Franzen 1 goal McCarty 1 goal Filppula, Cleary, Sammy? Anyone? Bueller? Pav and Hank are doing all they can.
