I am sure he will rebound and my thread will become a moot point. Either way I stand by my case, he can step it up a little offensively. We can't sit there and just accept his output right now. Its like a loving mom pushing her child. Don't even get me started on flip though... I don't think hes gone completely off the map. I never said he did. The only part people are using against this argument by me is that theyre all worked up over the title, when if they would actually read what I have posted in this thread, no where do I completely rail Z into the ground claiming he's been completely useless. On a day when 2 of the first thread titles i read are calling for a new captian , another asking if the most sought after G.M. in hockey will be fired, and so on I was expecting things like this which is why I've chose to post when normaly I refrain now days, for obvious reasons. While I do agree that Z and Lids are the ultimate in LGW golden boys who most consider immune to critisim, there is no reason so far in this series that they should be. Actually they've been 2 of the best players on either team by doing the little things to win games that go unnoticed by some. As i saw these "critisims" which were more of attacts against Dats as foolish, I also do these against Z. A little cliche to sum up my opinions on the rest of this series, "nashville may have just awoken the sleeping giant that is the Red Wings". I really hope Nashville and there fans are feeling as good about this series as Wings fans are down, it'll be nice to see them slapped back down to reality, no? GO WINGS!! Its funny how everyone calls certain players retarded and calls for heads to roll, but when someone mentions certain star players, they can do no wrong. Thats fantastic that Z has been backchecking and stopped a play. His purpose on this team is to score and make plays. Yes he has two goals, which came in 1 game. Fantastic. I love Z as much as everyone on these boards, but even Henrikrules40 admits that he can step it up a notch. As for everyone crying about me calling him retarded, get a grip, its a thread title, and if you actually read the two maybe 3 posts I have made in here, I obviously don't think he is retarded. If I did I would sit down and think of myself as such as well. Stop taking everything so seriously and open up your minds a little. Yeah yeah yeah use me why don't you. Sure Hank can do better. But I gotta agree with dallas27...there are a plethora of things that we can LEGITIMATELY complain about before we call Z out. Don't make me give examples. stormboy 47 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 last night, in the final minutes we needed a clutch goal. i'd think that zetterberg would be the best candidate for that clutch goal...he's probably the most clutch guy on our team. (not based on any statisical analysis, just my feelings.) problem is, it took ozzie like four times to get to the bench because our whole team couldn't settle the puck down in the offensive zone for s***. we couldn't even get INTO the zone. if you think it's z's responsibility to recover the puck from the defensive zone, get it past the blueline, set it up, pass to himself, and score a goal, then yeah, you could say it's his fault. but considering that he's still probably the most guarded guy on our team (you could make an argument with datsyuk) i'd say that's a pretty tall order. yeah, i want to see more out of him. i think he's got it inside. but you can't blame this loss on him. he's got half of our game-winners this post season. i have a feeling *crosses fingers* we'll see a big game out of him tomorrow.
