With a hire such as this - what could Leighton possible 'teach', 'coach' that would improve either Gibson, or Talbot when taking into consideration their respective NHL careers and performances (as in Leighton doesn't hold a candle to either of them).

Do not want Erik Karlsson. 11.5m for the next two years. No, thanks. Somebody on HFboards suggested Dylan Samberg who just filed for arbitration. Winnipeg love him and I’m sure they’ll sort out a long term contract though and won’t let him walk directly to UFA. But thats the kind of player we should go after, imo. Somebody on the rise that yet to have established themselves in the top four. Drew Helleson in Anaheim is another one, suggested by a poster that seems to know a lot about what the organization are thinking.

Yes, imagine being a 37 year old Talbot, or 31 year old Gibson, taking advice from a 44 year old Leighton that spent most of his career in the AHL and averaged like 4 games a year in the NHL.... he's barely their senior, can't hold a flame to their respective careers, and has no prior coaching expierience... but surely they will respect his critiscm and instruction. GREAT HIRE SY... Its all so tiresome. Prediction: Mclellan and Leighton will both be gone from the Wings within the next 3 years. Remember this post.

So it's apparent this is our lineup for next season. Thoughts? Kasper - Larkin - Raymond Dcat - Compher - Kane JVR - Copp - Appleton Soderblom - Ras - Berggren This is a deep forward lineup. None of the lines really jump out at you as amazing, But each can carry water both defensively and offensively. JVR and Appleton will be critical in shutdown roles, taking PK pressure off the backs of Larkin/Kasper/Ray etc.... The canary in the coal mine is Kasper. We've seen how good he is. If he can take the next step this year our top6 becomes dtamatically better... he is the X factor for us. Chiarot - Mo Ed - Ajo Gus - JBD/Holl Our D is far less encourging. We have our bright spots, but we also have blackholes. However, if Chiarot can play with chemistry with Mo, and Ajo takes a step forward, suddenly it wouldnt be that bad... here's to hoping.... Gibson/Talbot This could be a really good tandem. If they perform, our other issues may look frivolous. If Gibson sucks though, we may be screwed. A lot riding on him. Again we enter a season where if things click it could be great, but if it doesnt will likely be depressing. But we have Mclellan now, so im a bit more optimistic. LGRW.

YOU STOP IT RIGHT NOW. JBD will NEVER be the dynamo right-handed stand-in that is Nick Perbix. And I will not allow you to attempt to sway the good folks of LGW with these poisonous lies.
