What frustrated me about Franzen was he could never hold on to the puck or make the right play offensively... He goes to the net harder than most of our players and I didn't notice any floating really offensively, although his defense left a lot to be desired. But this is just one season

Franzen is not overpaid for his production. The team itself was streaky it wasn't just Franzen, and I don't think calling him lazy is really fair. Just cause he doesn't dominate shift in and shift out like Datsyuk used to doesn't mean he's lazy... Unrealistic expectations

I really want us to have so much depth that Helm plays centre on the 4th line. Abdelkader-Helm-Eaves is the best 4th line in the NHL.

Holland jest sent an offer like any GM should.teams like Toronto and Vancouver are probably begging him to sign right now I never expected him to sign here. The kid wants everything undeservedly handed to him. Suter is all that matters. I'm pretty confident he signs here but very nervous until its official. Scary to think what are team will be without one of these big free agents. I think Lidstrom had some insider information with holland when he decided to retire. I don't think he would leave us high and dry if holland wasn't sure suter would sign

If we sign suter Schultz and Quincey that's a pretty damn good D lineup with a lot of upside... Doubt we get Schultz but I say sign Quincey... The guy would be an awesome bottom pairing and able to move up the lineup. Don't judge him on the few months he's played here. The guy is talented and young and will probably shut a lot of guys up with his play once he's settled in Detroit... He looked very nervous and hell have something to prove this uear

Canucks have the most ignorant fans in the world. At least the Leafs, for the most part, have knowledgeable fans. Canucks fans throw the goalie under the bus after each loss no matter how the team played. I live in Vancouver so I know first hand. Luongo doesn't deserve all the criticism he gets from Vancouver media, there were much bigger problems in Vancouver's lineup last year than Luongo, but it's so easy to blame the goalie when you don't have any real knowledge of hockey. I still want Luongo to be successful, even though I hate the Canucks, so it would be awesome if Burke shafted them, Luongo got vezina numbers and Shneider isn't the next Patrick Roy like all Canucks fans think he is. -

Vancouver has a lot of history trading with Florida. I wanted Luongo to go to Toronto but I like the idea of him handcuffing the Canucks, so hopefully they get shafted in the deal. I can see Burrows going as well. -
I can see Detroit signing Suter to a nice long contract but I don't see Parise coming here and I'm fine with that. I honestly would rather have Kane than Parise

Edmonton is also terrible and hasn't turned the franchise around yet and still haven't come close to making the playoffs... When it comes time to sign new contracts some of those guys will be leaving

Also keep in mind he has been forced to play with Kindl, Commodore, Lebda... Ian white, Kronwall and Stuart would probably look worse playing with these scrubs

I brought this up because people were saying a pairing of Schultz and Smith would be like Weber and Suter in 3 years... Which is ridiculous.. Last year Ericsson was more poised with the puck than Stuart and Kronwall and Ericsson has taken strides forward each year... If You people are expecting Smith to step in and play better than ericsson then you're ******* high. Ericsson is by far our most undervalued player on this team...

I wonder how long it will take for everyone to turn on Smith like they did with Ericsson.... The kid has Potential and a good skill set but he has played like 9 NHL games and wasn't phenomenal. People aren't being realistic and are setting themselves up for disappointment

Meh let the wild pay 9 mil for him....if the wings pay any player more than 8 mil a season it better be stamkos, giroux, Crosby... Parise ain't in that category I don't see why people have such a boner for him -
Idk he's not outstanding he's fast and a strong fore checker... He's no Datsyuk or Zetterberg... Just his age is what appeals me... He's not the sniper we are looking for ...but no doubt he will make the team much stronger, suter is more important IMO

Starting to not care about signing Parise now... His play didn't seem to warrant a 7+ million a year.... Get suter first and foremost and if Parise wants to be a wing then good but if he doesn't I wouldn't be that upset

Parting ways with Stuart lets this team get fresher on D it's a good thing... I personally felt Stuart was awful the last 2 seasons and wasn't much help on most nights but that's just me... I think Kronwall will benefit from a new partner and were transitioning to a team that will get better with more experience given to the young guys instead of getting worse each year because of age... Stuart isn't a top 4 d man on a Stanley cup winning team at this point in his career

Making this deal while acquiring Suter really solidifies our D... Hypothetically I think Ericsson plays on the 2nd pairing with White on the 3rd I really like the strides Ericsson has made and I think Babcock does too
