Has anyone else noticed that Ozzie seems to be hiding ever since he has become the clear cut backup. Usually the backup goalie hangs out on the bench/hallway near equipment manager Paul Boyer and charts the shots during the game. The backup also usually comes out on the ice with the rest of the players after the game to congratulate the winning goalie. I have been to a couple of home games recently and have noticed that Ozzie does not stand on the bench or come out to congratulate Howard after a victory. I have read nothing but positive quotes from Babcock and Howard about how great of a teammate and mentor Ozzie has been for Howard but I am very surprised that he is not being a team player. Even Hasek let his ego go during the 2008 playoff run when he was diminished to a backup role. He continued to be great in practice and sit on the bench and support Ozzie and the rest of his teammates on their run to the cup. I am disappointed in Ozzie and feel that he is being a bit selfish. What are your thoughts?

We will have May, Abdelkader and Tollefson come playoff time if we need toughness so I'm not worried about that.

To each their own, but it wasn't even close to being my biggest disappointment as a Wings fan. 1) 1994, 2) 2006, and 3) 2001 were far worse for me, in that order. It was a fun ride winning the Western Conference again and going back to the finals, the Anaheim and Chicago series were excellent!
I was upset we lost, but I got over it quick.
I too am hoping for a Wings-Pens 3. I bought a Crosby Sucks t-shirt here http://www.zazzle.ca/crosby_sucks_tshirt-235033381060675664 and am looking forward to wearing it in June!

Oh well, it would have been nice to win, but I'll take the point. The main thing now is to clinch a playoff spot, and we still have two games in hand against Nashville.

We've gone over this several times, but this time I did some geographic research, travel distances, etc...
I'm in the mindset that all teams should travel equally and I would split it basically on a North East to South West type bend and then separate it back into Wales and Campbell Conferences and divisions (division names are just ideas and subjective) - Spread out original 6 teams, 3 per conference, equal West Coast teams split per conference - EVERYONE TRAVELS

In Division games - 5 games a team = 20 games
Out Of Division/In Conference - 3 games a team = 30 games
Opposite Conference - 2 games(home and home) = 30 games
2 flex games against opposite conference, geographic relevance/rivalry games = 2 games
82 game schedule.
I realize that some teams MAY get boned the most on travel IN division, but put it in perspective, only 10 games of these 20 against these teams will be on the road and it could be part of a west coast swing... also, all other teams in the division, essentially have to make the swing at least 5 times a season, plus the extra 2 or 3 for out of conference, so it comes very close to evening out... it still screws them less than the current schedule screws quite a FEW teams (Detroit, Chicago, Minnesota, Columbus, Nashville, etc...)
