Question...does anybody actually pay attention to high school cheer leaders ever?

I hate cheerleaders (no offense to anyone)...I ignore them at all opportunities. But funy story about a cheerleader. One at school was at another one's house and the neighbor was throwing out a toilet and they thought it would be funny to put it on a friend's lawn. So they were trying to load it in the car and it hit the first cheerleader and took a huge chunk out of her leg. They had to go to the ER and she got 15 stitches and is on crutches for awhile...I just thought this was amusing...

don't get me wrong I'll watch the events on TV sometimes...like the ones where they throw each other around and junk...but I don't like the cheerleaders at school...they are definately the stereotyped cheerleaders...but hey it's all good, some of us are hockey players some of us are cheerleaders...

Some cheerleaders give all of us a bad name...

No kidding!! The stupid blonde ones (I'm blonde, but I'm natural and I'm not a ditz) The real thing is a lot of hard work. I LOVE stunting! And supporting the team. I quit cause of those stupid ditzy ones

Exactly. That was the FUN of cheerleading. The stunting. I was a spotter at first (I'm too afraid of heights to fly) but then I was a base when I got stronger. It was really cool when a stunt when right. Our basket tosses were AWESOME. And we went to states twice. It was really a lot of hard work!

That's what I'm talking about. The ditzy ones that weren't even into it. I went to a high school basketball game recently, both coaches that coached at my high school when I was there in the late 90s were both coaching now at different schools against each other that game and it was the first time I saw them in like 7 or 8 years so I thought I'd pay them a visit...and cheerleaders for both schools were just not even trying or into the games, they were just there. Why be a cheerleader when you're not gonna show any spirit? laugh.gif

Exactly! I always wanted to fly, but I was too tall. I usually based, but I did some of the shoulder stands/sits. I always rocked the toe touches, splits and kicks though!

i used to be a cheerleader. It was 10th grade we were so loud that hte football coach came over to us and asked us if we could be a little quieter cuz the team couldnt hear the quarterback. I did it one year for basketball too. We were loud then too, but there wasnt 13 of us like in football. there were just 3 loud seniors. it was fun tho. it was the best Sr year i had.
