datsyukismyfriend 4 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 You forget the first goal, which would not have been those three. well, the hockey gods know lang's line sucks, so they didn't want to reward them.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted February 25, 2007 (edited) I cannot believe this crap. We had the game right where we wanted it and then 2 goals in what 4 minutes? And both Ozzie had NO chance and I really don't care what anyone's going to say. He played excellent tonight and deserved a damn win. Then again you know how it goes..Ozzie plays great and he doesn't get a W. As Ozzie said after being beaten by Langenbrunner in a playoff game 6 OT from center ice, "you know, everyone gets bad bounces, everyone gets goals they want taken back." Take that for the whole team. Things don't always go well. We played a good game. Sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you. Edit: Don't forget that this was a back-to-back game, and the 3rd in 4 days. Please, people--other factors exist. Teams do not always play on equal footing. Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 Wow, good call--we lost in OT to a team with whom we are neck and neck in the standings. What are you taking this from, again? Well to be fair Crymson- it's not like Holland would derive any pleasure from his team winning the cup. Nay, I'm sure his boss would much rather he keeps up a veneer of President's Trophies and leave the cup to other teams. Yeah alienanxiety's logic is flawless. Lidstromrules16 7 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 we did play well though, for a physical game that was back to back. Impressed with the overall effort, not the outcome. Congrats to Homie with his hattie.

Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 Actually, it does put them about us in the standings. They have more wins than we do. Oh look at me, my name is Tazzer and I'm all about raining on Marcus' parade . No wait, the refs did that at the end of the first, didn't they?

terri27 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 Well I think I'm gonna turn in. I just thought I'd share some good news here, I know most won't care but maybe it'll cheer somebody up. My nephews basketball team finished there regular season Friday and were undefeated. Now they can go to Indiana and play in this tournament called Valprazo. It's against ohter undefeated parochial schools.
Kass 7 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 The problem is that we're a one-line team. When Zetterberg/Datsyuk/Holmstrom are the only ones producing we should be losing unless we're facing a weaker team. Babcock needs to juggle the lines or dump Williams and move Cleary (Absent tonight) down. He also needs to give the Hudler/Flippula/Langfeld line more time or move them around. Hopefully, once Samuelsson comes back our lower lines can start producing again.
datsyukismyfriend 4 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 at least the wings brought it tonight. it was a great game and they had a lot of jump. it's nice to know they can get up for the big games. i hate losing in ot, it's so final!

I know and I'll get it over it in minutes, I just get bummed because this ALWAYS happens to Ozzie. He literally saved their asses in the first and the third with that huge save and somehow they get unlucky and lose. The Wings IMO played REALLY well and gritty tonight. It was anyones game..I just wish we would of got the game. Oh well. Gotta move on.

Nay, I'm sure his boss would much rather he keeps up a veneer of President's Trophies and leave the cup to other teams. Yeah alienanxiety's logic is flawless. No kidding. Crymson agrees. we did play well though, for a physical game that was back to back. Impressed with the overall effort, not the outcome. Congrats to Homie with his hattie. Agreed. The guys played more a more hard-hitting game than I've seen them play in quite awhile. Thumbs up to them. f*** this s***......i want a trade now. once again the first line gets all the points and the other lines dont do f***in s***. I hate the preds so much, i hate Forsberg so much.....f***, i'm so pissed right now. get a good forward in HERE NOW!!!!! All three goals came from the first line, yes-- but keep in mind that those goals all came on the power play. Naturally, your best players are always on for the power play--hence, this is a slightly different situation. I understand that you want a trade which will improve the team--we all do. However, we must abide reality; it might not come, barring the release of our future.

Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 Not a shot at Ozzie, but can anyone explain why he didn't play last night so Dom could play in this more important game?
Wings_Rule_1010 4 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 All around a pretty frustrating game. I really thought the Wings just let it slip away... at least nashville didn't get two points and move ahead of the wings in the standings(sorry, I am trying to be semi-optimistic). Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 God DAMN IT! I know this is going to be a popular sentiment, but if the refs hadn't stolen that first goal from us the game would've been ours. DAMN IT! They got it back less than two minutes later on the PP resulting from the play so... probably not. Oh, and of ******* course, a decree brought down from the hockey gods because I had the audacity to view the Red Wings scoring a hat trick--the first I've seen of the four this season--that we should lose the game anyhow. Real ******* funny, guys. It was a great game anyways. Very exciting, lots of action, good hitting, etc. Oz wants to have the first two goals back (the first goal was especially soft) but he came back and made some good stops in the late going. So, we split 'em up two aside; winners at home all. The race to the finish continues!

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 When is Lang gonna wake up , We need some offence , With Cleary out , Why didnt babs move Hudler to the lang line , or better Williams-Fillpula-Hudler ? some speed and some skill

He literally saved their asses in the first and the third with that huge save and somehow they get unlucky and lose. The Wings IMO played REALLY well and gritty tonight. It was anyones game..I just wish we would of got the game. Oh well. Gotta move on. Ozzie played a mostly good game. However, he did let in two soft goals. The first was only mildly bad--he really ought to have closed the pads on that one, as he had a good angle and plenty of time to get set. The second? Ozzie has always had trouble against breakaways, especially breakaways that see several of his teammates riding the sole opposing player. Legwand let off a light shot; Ozzie had all day to respond, and he unnecessarily committed to the left-pad save too early. Actually, in light of this I'd say that he played a so-so game. Two soft goals is two too many, barring the commission of some truly outrageous saves to even it out later on. It's not all the fault of the rest of the team. I hate to say it, but with Hasek neither of those would have been goals. Edited February 25, 2007 by Crymson

Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 Lang did exactly "get it done" tonight, but I wasn't offended by the intensity--or lack thereof--he brought tonight, so, he lives to see another day.
Barrie 900 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 I still say let Nashville win the Division. If we win the West again, it'll be just like the last two years in the Playoffs, everyone will be gunning for us. Give Nashville the bulls-eye this year.
